The location here is lovely, the views are amazing and the staff are friendly. The rooms however and decor are dated and appeal to a clientele of a certain age. We were definitely under the impression we were twenty years younger than the age of the average clientele that book at this hotel. Aside from that you won't get a... More

Let's just say, I won't go back to the Excelsior Bay. Yes, some of the waiting and concierge staff were nice. The location is good. It's a 4* hotel (meaning it has a pool and some gym equipment - 4* doesn't say anything about how good it is though). And the room was clean. And that's pretty much all I... More

I'm sorry......... but I can't agree with the recent post. We have just come back from the Excelsior after spending ten lovely days there. Our room was very good, I should of imagined it has been refurbished fairly recently, so I would think they are in a program of refurbishment of the hotel. Of course, like any privately run business,... More

Definitely not a 4* mor like a 2/3* Hotel. Good location but very dated décor, carpets cheap and threaded, bedding torn, wallpaper in need of replacing. Restaurant Menu varied although expensive, Long wait for bacon & egg in the morning as one young lady cooking this in two frying pans to order, ridiculous!! staff could be more friendly and less... First the good - the staff were all unfailingly helpful and attentive, the food was good, and dinner on the terrace with the sun going down behind the mountain was stunning. However, my single room not only overlooked the back of the kitchens but there was a motor running all the time, so it was impossible to sleep unless the... More

We stayed as a couple during the first 2 weeks in August and enjoyed our stay very much. We stayed in a double room on the first floor overlooking the swimming pool. The room was a good size and very clean. The food was fabulous with a good choice both for breakfast and evening meal. The hotel was very clean... More

In my opinion this Hotel is a 3 star and not a 4 star. The only good point with this Hotel is the location and the reception staff who were very helpful, The food was very basic and boring, although there were choices none were very exciting not what you would expect in a 4 star. The lounge area was... More

Visited this hotel 2nd to 9th August with my husband. What a stunning location. Pre booked a room with a balcony and full lake view. So glad we did. The views are amazing. Balcony very small only room for 2 chairs and no table but this was not a problem. Food was average, more 3* than 4* but everything was hot... More
