Fantastic position on edge of lake and only a five minutes walk into centre of Malcesine. Had a lovely room with amazing views over lake and mountains. Breakfast and dinner were served under canopy overlooking lake and mountains. Attentive, helpful and polite staff. Good food. Great pool area. Will definitely book this hotel again and would really recommend it.

Fantastic meal next to the lake watching the sun set behind the mountains. The service was attentive and polite but unobtrusive. We were greeted with complimentary Prosecco, a selection of fresh breads, and fish starter. Our meal tasted wonderful and was beautifully presented. I particularly liked the insalata - shaved pumpkin, walnuts, truffle oil and parmesan cheese. The live music... More

It was our first visit to lake garda and we chose the Excelsior Bay hotel right on the lake front at Malcesine. It was,a good choice. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Fantastic swimming pool. It would have been nice if there had been a gym. Food was plentiful and tasty.

Having stayed in Macesine 6 or 7 times over the past 20 years and having walked past this Hotel which is situated right on the waters edge , on many occasions ; we decided to book. What a lovely experience. The cleanliness at all times was exemplarory , ten out of ten .The staff were so very warm , friendly ,... More

The hotel is good but the staff do not know much English so if you want anything out of the menu it's difficult to communicate and the bathroom when you want to shower all the water falls out good view fun place to stay if you like sunbathing The pool is good

The location here is lovely, the views are amazing and the staff are friendly. The rooms however and decor are dated and appeal to a clientele of a certain age. We were definitely under the impression we were twenty years younger than the age of the average clientele that book at this hotel. Aside from that you won't get a... More

Let's just say, I won't go back to the Excelsior Bay. Yes, some of the waiting and concierge staff were nice. The location is good. It's a 4* hotel (meaning it has a pool and some gym equipment - 4* doesn't say anything about how good it is though). And the room was clean. And that's pretty much all I... More

I'm sorry......... but I can't agree with the recent post. We have just come back from the Excelsior after spending ten lovely days there. Our room was very good, I should of imagined it has been refurbished fairly recently, so I would think they are in a program of refurbishment of the hotel. Of course, like any privately run business,... More

Definitely not a 4* mor like a 2/3* Hotel. Good location but very dated décor, carpets cheap and threaded, bedding torn, wallpaper in need of replacing. Restaurant Menu varied although expensive, Long wait for bacon & egg in the morning as one young lady cooking this in two frying pans to order, ridiculous!! staff could be more friendly and less...
