When I read the very good reviews here, I wonder if we just had their worst room. The location is beautiful: The hotel is spread out over different buildings in a big garden. All of them have a little terasse with a view outside - all of them except for ours. We had a tiny little room with simple furniture... More

Four nights in Villa Diana with every morning from our room or from the terrace of the restaurant this wonderful view on the Castello standing in the middle of the Lipari bay with the rising sun in front of you. Four siestas ending with the same view but with the sun behind showing this time the colorful town protected by... More

We stayed at Villa Diana on Lipari as a base for island- hopping for the other volcanic islands. I stayed at Villa Diana for three days and absolutely fell in love with the place. Paolo and his sons run the place, along with some help from some locals. They were very helpful and at times talked to me at length about my travels and their life in Lipari. There are two different levels, the bottom rooms have a... More

The room was very clean and comfortable and the terrace was a great place to relax, but the reception we got was cold and sometimes unpleasant. Several pointers: - the staff were always cold and detached - one particular unpleasant staff member would not let us have breakfast late in our room, even though the previous night we had climbed...
