My husband and I were bicycling through Puglia on our own and chose the Patria Palace for our night in Lecce. It's in the heart of the old quarter, a beautifully restored building in a mostly pedestrian area, facing the magnificent cathedral. I had requested a superior room -- which was a very nice size (especially for hotels in Europe)... more

I recently ended up at the Patria Palace after a month of travelling B&B style around Italy, when my Lecce B&B fell through at the last minute. It was late, and they had rooms available so I ended up in a very comfortable room looking directly out onto the amazing Santa Croce. I decided to stay there for the rest... more

Lecce is a wonderful city to walk around, and the Patria Palace is perfectly placed for walks in any direction. The rooms are very fine, the staff highly competent, and the restaurant worth eating in. It is not the very best of the nearly dozen hotels that my wife and I stayed in during our month-long trip to Italy, but... more

We toured Puglia last week, and dropped into the hotel unannounced. They were welcoming and put our party in two second floor rooms. We didn't get the view, but the stay was very enjoyable. Rooms were adequate, but not spacious, what you'd expect from an old city centre hotel. Great location, near to the night life, and so close to... more

Just returned from 4 days at the patria palace. This is a great hotel in the centre of lecce. Had the quickest check in ever which was welcome aftera long journey from ireland. Our room was on the 3rdfloor,a good sized room, flat screen tv with sky, great bathroom with power shower and the best bit was the roof terrace... more

This hotel is superbly located in Lecce. It is also good in that they will park your car for you. There is a charge, but as parking in the town is a nightmare, this option is worth taking - and being grateful for! The room in the hotel was fairly dark, and it reminded me of a business hotel room.... more

The good is that the hotel is well-located and the staff will garage your car. The rooms are small and definitely not elegant. Thought I was in the wrong place because the lobby is very small. Agree with another review about some of the staff---forced smiles. Did not feel that it is up to Starwood standards with some deferred maintenance.... more

This hotel is perfectly situated for the historic centre of Lecce, which is famous for its baroque architecture. It is now part of the Sheraton chain. This is a good thing because Sheraton have used a light touch in setting standards of service without destroying the Italian character of the hotel. Our room was on the top floor and had... more

We stayed in the Patria Palace for 3 nights on a recent trip to Puglia. Calling it a palace is a big stretch. The only thing royal about the place is the staff who think that they are the royalty having to deal with unwanted guests in their palace. Our room overlooked a wall and was over the kitchen, so... more

You cant beat the location and although clean and comfortable the rooms are rather small and the bathroom not great. However compared with others we stayed in in S Italy, it stands out as being the best. Parking was posisble in nearby garages, a real plus for Lecce. more
