Having been quoted €1,100 per night to stay at the Grand Hotel in Monte Carlo during Grand Prix week! We found this quiet family run Hotel only 30km over the border in Italy with rooms from only €100 per night. One concern was secure off road parking for my Car which we had transported from the UK especially for the Holiday, fortunatley if you ask at Reception a key can be provided to a gated secure compound at the rear of the Hotel at no extra charge.

The room was clean and the sea view from the balcony as good as what you get at the Grand Hotel but for a lot less money! A Taxi was organised for us by the friendly staff on Reception to take us to the Station in Ventimiglia from there it was just a €6 train journey into Monoco station taking about 20 minutes.

The roof top terrace is a great place to sun bath and the view is fantastic. A very quiet Three Star Hotel on the main road through Ospedaletti but do not be put off by its appearance. We ate in the... more
