The location was perfect for visiting Grosseto and the neighbouring cities, Siena, Rome, Florence as the hotel is close to the railway station. The staff was very helpful , the room clean and the breakfast wonderful.

We spent three nights here on a coach tour and didn't know what to expect as some travel guides don't rate grosseto very highly.Lovely hotel in a great position within the old city walls nice bedroom, nice breakfast, ideal for exploring the old city with bars and restaurants on your doorstep. Loved Grosseto what ever the travel guides say.

We had an excellent stay at the Bastiani in July 2015. The hotel is small and probably the nicest in the old town. Traditional and impeccably clean. The beds are large and the linen soft. Modern bathroom. Air conditioning! Breakfast is generous continental with small fees (3 euros) for eggs/omelettes. Wifi worked well and unlike someone else wrote, it does... More

Grossetto is a interesting city off the tourist trail with a charming ambiance. We stayed for 3 nights in this hotel at the start of an escorted tour. The hotel is in a very favourable location within the city walls and is an easy stroll away from all the interesting places. Our 3rd floor room was quite compact and was tastefully... More

This was our first hotel on a tour of Tuscany. It is a lovely building with well-proportioned public and private rooms. The service from all the staff - cleaners, breakfast staff, reception staff was excellent. It's location is brilliant, being within the city walls and within easy walking distance of anywhere you might want to visit. A short distance after... More

The Grand Hotel Bastiani is in a very good location, within the city walls and close to the centre of town. The rooms and interior are dated but I had a pleasant stay. The bathroom was very good and the breakfast was nice.

Great hotel inside historic wall. High ceilings, beautiful decor and furnishings. Friendly reception staff. Cold buffet breakfast but we knew this beforehand. Still put on a nice spread. Walking distance to restaurants and shops.

Staying at this elegant 12th century property is ideal for visiting the heart of Maremma, where the air we are breathing is the same that the ancient Etruscans breathed. Its hard to believe that this was once a malaria marsh called "bitter and cursed" a place where charcoal was gathered, herds of buffalo roamed and brigands hid from the authorities.... More

We stayed here for 5 nights whilst on the Saga “Postcards from Tuscany” Tour. It was like “going back in time” to stay in this classic, traditional hotel which features much marble, brass fittings in some bathrooms, shutters, and an attractive main staircase with an iron and brass balustrade. We found the hotel to be clean, and the staff efficient,... More

Value for money it's not the place to be. We were a family of five couple & toddler + old couple. we booked two rooms. It's seems this hotel was renovated in the early 80's, rooms are large but all the interior design lacks and bit malfunction. As I said in the title, location is great, right in the center... More
