Another stop over on drive from France to Italy. This hotel was another gem! The room was of an adequate size same with the ensuite. Resturant in hotel was very nice, had dinner & breakfast there. The cost was very good & breakfast was included in the charge for room. Once again hard pillows but getting used to this!

Hotel Granduca Grosseto is absolutely not to recommend. Air Condition very bad and if you complain the reception staff is becoming angry not accepting, not believing and not offering a different room. internet was very weak not existing in the rooms only in the reception hall. breakfast is no 4 star standard for italy. as well beds are pretty hard and... We don't normally stay in 4-star hotels, so we were really looking forward to this, but it was quite disappointing. The room was very spacious and the manager was very friendly and helpful, but no information whatsoever was provided about hotel facilities, the internet often didn't work, and there was very poor lighting in the room which made it impossible... Clean and nice friendly service. From the outside it looks more fancy as it is. The rooms brings you back to the 90s. Unfortunately we didn't get to eat at the restaurant, it is on the Michelin guide. Maybe next time. The price level was fair compared others a like.

very impressed with this hotel and its staff, Barbara in particular, we stopped here when my dad took ill, it was very close to the hospital and made a horrible situation a lot easier to deal with. The staff were fantastic anything to help and Barbara offered to give her day off up to come and translate for us really... More

I have stayed in hotels all over the world from no stars to 6 stars and no hotel has stood out as much as the Granduca. What makes this hotel so special are the staff they are spectacular, not only do they provide an outstanding service, absolutely nothing is too much trouble, they take time and care with their guests.... What you have to bear in mind with Grosseto as a whole is that it is not a particularly big town which means the choices of hotels are minimal. This hotel was perfect for us as we passed through for one night as the rooms were clean and comfortable. However it was (in my opinion) in need of updating, not... More
