Background: We stayed for three nights while on a tour of Sicily (Gate 1). The tour company selected the hotel. Location: The hotel is a few blocks from the beach in Giardini Naxos. Giardini Naxos is a short bus ride from Taormina. There are many restaurants in Giardini Naxos near the beach front Hilton. Reservations/Front Desk: The front desk staff... More

We stayed here four nights as the second stage of our Sicily tour. Our first reaction was a distinct WOW, the hotel oozing luxury very much in line with the company advert and on-line video. A waterfall covered the wall near the gate and the main hotel sign. On entering the grounds, we were faced with a magnificent blue pool... More

The resort was very disappointing and shabby but this hotel made up for it. It is an oasis of peace with a lovely pool and garden so a good place to be based for trips to Taormina and Etna. We were woken up to birds singing and a lovely view of Mount Etna. The room was spacious and comfortable. The... More

Overall this is a nice place to stay. Our room was quite large with a nice balcony that had a view of Taormina. It is well located relative to the beach, has a large pool and the grounds are well maintained. Don't stay out too late by the pool as a staff member came out and shut the lights of... More

We stayed at this hotel as one of the two on an organized tour of Sicily, so it wasn't my choice. I don't have much experience of hotels on Sicily but whilst I was able to see why it was a 4 star hotel, it was no where near the best in that category we've stayed whilst in Italy. Having... More

Giardini Naxos itself was tatty and thee beach dirty but the Sant Alphio hotel is right on the edge of the resort with only orchards on the other side plus Mount Etna if one goes further. The Proprietor lives in the hotel and keeps an eye on the day-to-day business and it tells. The staff were friendly and very efficient.... More

Good public areas, most rooms spacious. We were on a package tour of Sicily. Breakfast excellent, dinner disappointing, soup made out of a package! Staff ok but not exceptional, both pools very cold. Trip to Etna was a disaster for those who paid the 62 euro each to go above the 6000 ft coach park. It was absolutely freezing, winds... More

We stayed here for 8 nights and used the hotel as a base to explore North Eastern Sicily. Our room was spacious and pleasant with a great view of the ocean and Mount Etna. The staff were helpful and polite. We only ate breakfast which was typically continental with a good range of pastries. Fresh fruit salad and real Italian... More

Don't know if it was because we were there with a tour group but no charge for the pools (indoor and out) or towels and nobody asked who we were so...think it was general policy now. Room was clean and comfortable, traditional without any modern wow factor. Lovely balcony overlooking Etna. Staff were friendly and helpful. The food on the... More

Going by the reviews it looks like 2014 was not a good year for that property. We used it as a base for some nearby exploring and – it was a treat for us. I like the Italian “great gesture” – as long as it is followed by an efficient and friendly service and here it was. Had a ”mountain... More
