This is a fantastic hotel that we have enjoyed for more than 20 years. Gorgeous location, very private and quiet. Great pool, restaurant, and discreet service. Hermes amenities in the rooms. The Casa Archi suite is excellent for family stay, with separate private garden.

The first thing you notice about Locanda San Vigilio is its prominent position at the tip of a small peninsula. It's not so much that's it's on the lake as it is, in the lake. It's hard to imagine a more breathtaking location. Certainly that is a significant part of the hotel's charm but it is far more than that.... More

A lunch on the patio overlooking the lake, preceded by a stroll down old cobbled streets (watch your step-they're slippery)then through a large house redolent of age and taste. The service was impeccable, the Prosecco sublime, and I opted for the buffet. None of this horrible hotel buffet nonsense, this was a decorated table in a panelled room, with savouries and local... The location of the hotel right on the water is just beautiful. The outdoor cafe where you can boat up to is a must. Didn't swim but the pool looked nice. All the rooms are a bit different. Mine was dark but since I was busy all day it really didn't matter. Bathroom was clean. No room numbers so almost... More

I spent four days at Locanda San Vigilio with my husband and two 11-year-olds. We expected to like the hotel based on the reviews we had read, but wow! Their website really does not capture the stunning natural beauty and incredible buildings on this site. We felt like we were in a little town, which indeed we were; our suite... More

We ourselves and another couple of friends of ours ( a very very very famous teacher at Cambridge University ) found astonishing everything. Don't miss it in anyhow: private open air swimming pool, two different places where you can take sun bath...an exclusive one and, on the other side of the magnificent " cupressus " and olive trees park, a... A superb location at the banks of the Garda lake makes this luxury hotel a wonderfull place to be (provided that you arrange your transport). Although the room we had was a little noicy (above the kitchen) and the bathroom was rather basic, and therefore the almost € 300 for one night was over priced, we did not regret our... More

Locanda San Vigilio has to be one of, if not the most idyllic and enchanting locations to stay on Lake Garda. The property dates from c1500 and includes Sir Winston Churchill and HRH Prince Charles among its patrons. The boutique hotel situated right on the water has about ten rooms and suites and yet benefits from a restaurant with both... More

Spent an amazing evening at the hotel for a pre-wedding party. There were forty five people in our group from all over the world and all agreed that the evening was one of the best we'd experienced anywhere! The hotel staff could not have been more attentive, service was excellent. The food was amazing, a buffet of wonderful fish, fresh... More

Far too expensive for what it offers. Rooms are comfortable but poorly lighted. Food of average quality; breakfasts are adequate but not more than adequate. Service is friendly and location is attractive. However, the hotel is totally overpriced and does not make the impression of a four star plus establishment
