My husband took me on a a Newmarket Holiday in Oct 2008. We stayed at the Alfieri. There was one included trip the rest were extra, this made a reasonably priced holiday quite expensive. Every day there was a trip you had to get up at about 5.30am - not my idea of holiday. The hotel is old and dated,... more

Owned and run by Fabrizzio and Sabrina, a husband and wife team and their staff - notably Mirco and Valeria, who they treat like family - it's not as typical as you may expect. The Alfieri is situated in a quiet cul-de-sac away from the main part of the new town, but I was there before the main season, so... more

Myself & my husband booked through Newmarket Travel for a 5 day break with 2 tours pre booked to Sorento & Rome. In our opinion, the first shock came when we were travelling to our hotel on the coach, and was informed that the very next morning was the first tour. Please note we arrived at the hotel in the... more

Just returned from a holiday to Fiuggi with Newmarket Travel touring southern Italy, including Pompeii, Sorento, Capri, Rome, Castella Romani. My sister and I had a wonderful holiday. The hotel and resort were wonderful, excellent local food and the people were very friendly. Most of the local shops/restaurants can understand english. The hotel has a spa in the basement which... more

My husband and I have just returned from a five night Newmarket holiday staying at The Alfieri Hotel in Fuiggi. Tour managers Fabio and Ria (man and wife) were very approachable and could be quite amusing. They did like giving out playing cards when going out on trips. These were collected on returning to the coach to ensure they got... more

I have always wanted to see Pompeii , so this year my friend and I booked the Sorrento and Pompeii 6 day trip traveling out on 22nd and returning late on the 29th May. We had a twin room with a separate bathroom and small balcony. The first thing we noticed was the Purple/Lilac colour scheme with a brown tile... more

Even giving us telephone numbers to contact them or the hotel if we got lost when our on trips. The Hotel is lovely and very peaceful. Nice room with balcony. We... more

This is a good medium-class hotel in a good location just a few minutes walk from the centre of town. It does back onto a church so you will get the bells ringing on a Sunday morning, but otherwise fairly quiet. Its rooms are a good size and the beds are nice and comfortable. Our bathroom had just been refurbished... more

The Alfieri is a small, well managed hotel. Rooms are small but clean with reasonable facilities. The evening meals were reportedly good although we only took the continental style breakfast which was adequate. Watch out for the separate Italian and British menus common to most hotels in the area. If you want a change from roast meat and veg you... more
