Just stayed 2 nights at the Dolce Mela and what a wonderful B&B. Super clean, super friendly service, totally attentive to your needs!! The location is also very nice as it is quiet and yet very close to the center. There is also a small garage if you come by car. No negative points whatsoever!

Dolcemela is a quiet, classy little B&B in the heart of old Ferrara. The rooms are clean and tasteful, the breakfasts are excellent, and the staff is kind and helpful. They provided clothes washing facilities, a garage for the car, and bicycles to ride around this bike-friendly walled town. It was a joy to find this wonderful little secret!

What a delightful little gem this place is. Set in a quiet side street, but within easy walking distance of all sights and delights you could possibly want, this is a lovely accommodation. Breakfast was fantastic and I can't wait to return.

My husband and I stayed at Dolcemela for three weeks because of a film project in Ferrara. It couldn't have been nicer, Emanuella stocks the breakfast table with her homemade torta every morning and they vary from day to day. She or her son Giovanni are happy to make you an egg and get your coffee - both customized to... More

We stayed at Dolcemela for two nights at the end of September. It’s very romantic place in the very center of old Ferrara. The room and the bathroom were beautiful, breakfast – delicious. Marko and Christina were very helpful in everything. This is one of the best our travel experiences.

Tucked away in a narrow cobbled street in the medieval heart of Ferrara, the Dolce Mela is everything one could hope for in terms of comfort, service and character. It combines old world Italian charm with modernity which means one has all 'mod cons' yet still feels very much in Italy. Those anxious to lose weight may wish to stay... More

Arriving in Ferrara, and discovering Via Sacca 35, was a bit of a challenge, but well worth the effort. The owner and his family are very friendly in a natural way, and the proximity to Ferrara's historical center was the reason we chose this small restored b & b. The rooms and bathrooms are comfortable, and the only down side... More

Ferrara is a bit of a sad city these days due to the recent earthquake. We visited upwards of a dozen churches, and all were closed except the main cathedrale, and it too had sustained significant damage. Some of the major tourist sights (the Palazzo Schifanoia) are unavailable as well. And the main downtown square is afflicted with a modern... More

As other reviewers have remarked, Dolcemela is on a quiet side street within easy walking distance of the piazza di cattedrale, Castello Estense, and even an access point to get onto the old wall surrounding the city. We asked for a quiet room and stayed on the upper floor away from the street and overlooking the courtyard (the room was... More

Fantastic location and great value, quiet, very warm and yet professional management/ownership. Helpful and with excellent recommendations on what to do and where to eat. The owner bicycled out to an exterior piazza to meet us and help us find a parking space, then escorted us to the hotel. Ferrara is a bicycle paradise! In the lovely centro no cars... More
