I asked one of the sisters who owns the hotel, "What does Prati mean?" She laughed, and responded that it is a shortened version of the family name. She said that her grandmother was an excellent cook, and operated a restaurant there during World War II. Unfortunately, she died while on her way to a bomb shelter in 1944. She... More

We were here in July and have just been back in October. Where else would you go in Ferrara? Perfect location for the major museums and sights, knowledgeable and highly competent and helpful staff, exuberant breakfast, good wifi... They have it all.

We loved this historic building decorated with antique furniture and a gallery’s worth of modern art. Our party of three stayed in the spacious Suite which includes a bed/sitting room plus a double/twin bedroom. It has a homey feel, especially with the atmospheric terrace set up with table and chairs plus evening lighting. The bathroom had a great shower and... More

A charming, small hotel on a quiet street, in easy walking distance to the Castle, city walls, restaurants, train station and bus stops. Pristine accommodations with changing art exhibits. Our spacious room and bathroom included all amenities. Our hosts were very friendly and offered directions and suggestions during our stay. We looked forward to chatting with them during the ample... We were warmly welcolmed by the manager and given a nice room. Not deluxe, but a nice comfortable room, with a good shower, though no bath. A good choice at breakfast, though no hot dishes. The hotel is a minute from the castle and two minutes from the town centre. At €80 per night for bed and breakfast for 2... More

This small hotel is located only two blocks from the Castello, yet is very quiet. The family owners were delightful and everyone of them was polite, friendly and helpful. The rooms are quiet and equipped with all you need, although not fancy they have comfortable beds, clean and new bathrooms en suite, and a good breakfast. The main attraction other... More

Our second time here in 2 years. In 2011 my wife and I stayed in their suite with it's own roof terrace which was perfect. This July we brought the kids and stayed in their apartment just over the road in a beautiful 18th century palace. What a lovely place to retreat to after the heat of the day and... More

Nice small hotel in the center of Ferrara, near to the Castello and Palazzo dei Diamanti. Run by friendly people; good breakfast and atmosphere; reduced parking, rent a bike nearby. Fine place to stay in this pleasant town.

Ferrara is a great alternative to the crowds of tourists in the bigger cities, and the sunny disposition of Hotel De Prati guarantees that you will have a very comfortable visit. Vibrant color and exciting art fill the hotel, and it is staffed by people who offer exactly the right balance of professional efficiency and helpful friendliness. My room was... More

We had a great time in Ferrara thanks to this lovely hotel with the nice staff. We travelled with 3 children, so it was a pleasant surprise when we entered the appartment. It was spacious, quiet, airconditioned, modern and well equipped. Walking distance to main attractions.
