Accomodating management, presumably owners; pleasant, clean, simply decorated hotel. If you dare drive to or around Erice, be forewarned that it is like a maze with extremely narrow, steep, one-way roads. If you make a wrong turn, you'll have to start over. It was fun driving to the hotel. Streets were narrow and packed with people, being a bank holiday. Hotel was conveniently placed for all sites in Erice. Receptionist was very welcoming. Rooms were basically furnished, comfortable and warm. Food in restuarant was excellent, and breakfast had the usual array of cerials, juices, breads etc. Hotel was quite busy with tourists.... more

Moderno is a great location to explore the lovely town of Erice. Driving to the hotel is not recommended because of the narrow streets and it was a bit hairraising driving up the mountain to get to town. Room was fine but I would say the breakfast buffet was the most disappointing of our entire stay in Sicily, not terrible... more

The hotel is a pleasant place to spend a night. Our room was not particularly bright, but for the time spent that didn't matter, and was comfortable enough.
