If you are looking for a charming B&B in a fabulous mountain top village in Sicily, Il Carmine B&B is perfect. Located in a converted convent, Il Carmine has large comfortable rooms and a better than average breakfast. The service has very good. The village of Erice is outside your door. Il Carmine is excellent value for money.

Staying in an ex-monastery was special, location was great and easy to find, parking in front of hotel was not a problem. Although a comfortable stay, the whole setting has so much potential that feels unfulfilled with the hotel's current mediocre groove.

We later found out that this establishment is one of few who include breakfast in Erice and were delighted with the array of healthy options. The rooms, although predictably spartan (it is a converted convent after all), were adequate and added authenticity to the experience of staying in a medieval village. The beds, ahem, were also what one might expect... More

This is a beautiful old building with an interesting history. The rooms are very clean and comfortable and the breakfast delicious. Certainly good value for money. The best rooms are with the balcony as they are a bit bigger and have a great view over the enchanting streets. The night we stayed the clouds rolled in and the view from... More

The room and vibe is great. Need to climb stairs to get to the room. There is no AC but we didnt feel the need. erice is a must in sicily, amazing city but i recommend wearing good shoes (not high heels) since the city is full of stairs and uncomfortable and slippery pavements.

This was a quaint B and B (ex convent). Clean and many rooms are spacious.Breakfast was well presented and hearty. Location is a short walk to the center of the medieval town of Erice. Friendly and helpful staff.

This is a quiet refuge in a very busy tourist trap above Trapani in Sicily. The town was easily walkable so no need for driving the narrow cobbled streets once you've managed to find somewhere to park.

Il Carmine offers a tranquility and setting that is rare, even for Erice. The fact that Il Carmine used to be a sanctuary (or even monestary), shows clearly, and it just adds to the very special experience. The place in general and the rooms are well kept, it is easy to find, parking is cheap (when you as advised buy... More

This small ex-convent has been made into a very lovely B&B. Other reviewers were obviously disappointed that this is not a hotel - think largish B&B and you will not be. Our room was extremely spacious - clearly the nuns had quite large cells! The room had a barrel vaulted ceiling and a small balcony. The thick stone walls, high... More

Booked 4 nights and left after 1 night. Would have left immediately but had no options. This is NO WAY anything but a 2 star place to stay at. There was no hotel staff other than a t shirt dressed teenager to do nothing other than hand me my key. To park I had to take a 20 min walk... More
