Some people say it's not worth spending more than a few hours in Erice, just wander about like everyone else, have lunch then return to a more sensible location at sea level for the night. Well, they're quite wrong! This is an enchanting little town and the San Domenico is an ideal place to stay - once you've found it.... More

We spent 3 nights at this lovely hotel. Its location is excellent for exploring sites and shops, and our room was comfortable with an incredible view. Rosella, her father, and Patrick were friendly and helpful. We certainly appreciated their patience with our Italian! Yes, parking can present a challenge, but not major. We would certainly recommend or choose again.

Very good location. Am puzzled by comments about access by car, I drove directly to the hotel with a Ford Galaxy and backed up ten feet from the entrance to unload and load. Staff very helpful. Short walk to the main square. Breakfast is small hotel Sicily, get over it. If we are ever back even close we will be... More

Here is the most-important thing to keep in mind when going to Erice if you haven't been there before: Arrive way before it's dark because as I found out ( in driving alone as a single woman who had been driving all around Sicily on her own) finding your hotel here in the dark is a very stupid thing to... A three night stay here before driving over to the east of the island. Lovely location and a charming hotel. OK the rooms are not huge, but we are talking historic buildings here. The owners have only basic english - so what, improve your italian! Erice is a delight and especially at night after the tour coaches have disappeared. One... More

The only good thing about this hotel was the location and the parking. The room we stayed in was small and dismal, the TV did not work and the bathroom was tiny. In addition, we had trouble flushing the toilet. The owner came up and gave us directions! After that it was still hit or miss as to whether we... More

Erice is an interesting city with streets from mediaval period. The hotel fits Into the surrounded atmosphere. The rooms are totally renewed and so the bathroom . They were clean and comfortable. Nevertheless ,the breakfast could be better and I would expect from a hotel to have a richer Breakfast with more variety of bakeries ,eggs, cheese and so on. But... More

There is no way that this hotel should be #1 in Erice or anywhere. Most of the reviews have already pointed out the many defects that far outweigh this properties only redeeming value - location. The list of shortcomings. 1. The breakfast. A joke. There is a complete lack of anything fresh. If you want stale bread, bad coffee, no... More

We had two lovely nights here in this beautiful town and this fine hotel. We had a room with a balcony looking over the gorgeous coastline: you would be advised to book a balcony room. The room was large and comfortable and the breakfast good.

The family run hotel was a good choice in Erice - quiet, clean & comfortable. One of our party was ill during the stay and the staff were all solicitous & practical and Patrick was especially helpful, not least during a hospital visit.
