I've been here many times over the last 14 years. It's been fully renovated and has more charm than ever... it's in the best location and is super easy to find. The owner Adriano is a legend,a wealth of local knowledge and knows a thing or two about Curling too! I'll be back for sure!

We were a group of nine who just returned from a week of skiing in Cortina d'Ampezzo. We stayed in the Hotel Montana and it was terrific. It's a very well-run family hotel - very clean and comfortable, and the breakfasts were excellent. The location is fantastic - it's right next to the main church in the centre of Cortina. There was a balcony on each of our rooms and we could look out upon the beautiful church/bell tower with the mountains behind. We used the ski bus to get to and from the slopes - the bus stop was 50m from the hotel in the Piazza Roma (and it was the first bus stop for our route). The bus station was also within 200m - we had private transfers but you could easily use the Cortina Express/ATVO/Flixbus services from Venice/Marco Polo as the hotel is so close to the station. The Ski Pass office and our ski rental shop (Boarderline) were also next to the Bus Station. There were many reasonable restaurants in the centre of Cortina and there was a supermarket by the Olympic viaduct/bridge (about 5-10min walk). The value of the accommodation was terrific - it's a little oasis of good value amongst the decadence of Cortina. Within 100m radius of the hotel there are many high-end shops like Louis Vuitton, Prada, Dior, YSL, North Face, etc, etc. Adriano and family were very friendly and helpful. For example, one of the receptionists photocopied the ski bus timetable for me - a small gesture but very helpful. We were leaving early on our last day and they kindly opened the breakfast buffet early for our party (breakfast normally runs 7-9.30) - another lovely gesture. The rooms were quite basic but very comfortable - they were warm and hot water seemed plentiful. There was also a boot room in the ground floor for our ski boots, etc. Overall, we were very impressed by Hotel Montana Cortina and would happily book again! We couldn't have wanted for more in Cortina.

Spent 4 nights at the Montana during high summer season. Pricing is very reasonable and the hotel is located right in the epicenter of Cortina with some 5 parking places right next door so parking was easy. More is located just a 100m away. The check in was clear and welcoming. The Montana claims to be pet friendly and it indeed was as a doggy bed was supplied to the room together with some treats. The room itself was basic and clean with very functional daily housekeeping. Breakfast was good and and we especially appreciated the visible efforts to minimize the usage of single use plastic amenities and waste. The Cortina nightlife can be noicy on the streets but once keeping the balcony door closed during the first hours it keeps the disturbances out very effectively so we really do not understand what other guests have bern complaining about in previous reviews. If crowds and noice are the issue it might be wise to get accommodation further from the center during any season. Keep in mind that the Montana Hotel is housed in a traditional alpine building, probably a 100 years old and spaces available in those are not comparable to modern day luxury resorts. Having been in hundreds of hotels it is still very easy to recommed places like this since there is a unique caring that simply shows without flashy lights. We will definitly return.

THIS HOTEL DON'T CARE IF THEIR CUSTOMERS CAN SLEEP OR NOT AND WILL NOT REFUND YOU EVEN WHEN THEY'RE IN THE WRONG. DO NOT STAY HERE! This was my worst hotel experience ever and I've stayed in some dodgy hotels in my time. I'm disabled, suffer from extreme fatigue as a result of my chronic condition, so I messaged in advance via Booking.com to request a quiet room. I was travelling solo and this was my first ski holiday in years so it was extra important that this happened. They said that wasn't a problem but when I turned up to check in they put me in a room sharing a wall with the elevator, the door to the elevator is at a right angle to the room door. I said I couldn't stay in the room as the door binging open, people getting on and off the lift as well as the lift going up and down would keep me awake all night. They moved me to another room but when I came back that evening the child in the room next door was screaming and banging against the walls, I could hear every word he said, he was so loud you could hear him 2 floors down. After an hour and a half I went to complain and the receptionist tried to get me to bang on the door and ask them to be quiet myself! Eventually he asked them to be quiet but the noise only got worse afterwards. I went downstairs to request a room move but I was told the only rooms left were these two identical rooms sharing a wall with the lift - one of the rooms I'd been offered previously. He told me the child would have to go to sleep eventually and I could sleep them - a shocking way to treat a guest. He also told me they had no other rooms available all week, they were booked out. I asked for him to ring the owner so I could speak to him and he refused. I was left with no choice but to walk around the resort looking for another room. I eventually found one and moved that night. My room was above the busiest apres ski bar in Cortina, open until 2am every night, and across from another one but I slept like a log every night as it was normal noise not noise that sounded like the screaming child was in the room with me behaving like a brat. They refused today to let Booking.com refund me my money and they took no responsibility for offering me totally totally unsuitable accommodation. Now I've got to take action through my credit card to get my money back. Do yourself a favour and stay somewhere else.

We read with amazement the criticism made by the customer. She complained right from the start of the first room that it was next to the elevator (with a completely soundproof door). Then we upgraded to a refurbished double, but at five in the afternoon she was bothered by a child talking near her room. We did see another room but the view was not good ... we have never had such an insatiable customer in our home in many years. We have kept the room locked for the whole week because that was the reservation and therefore we do not return the money. With the hope of no longer having guests like the lady, we thank

Outstanding family run hotel in the centre of town. We’ve stayed here about four or five times in summer and just now in the ski season. As ever the staff are super friendly, the location in the centre of town is incredible and the prices very reasonable. We’re planning our next trip and intend to stay here again.

This place is incredible! Right in the heart of town, amazing views, and great amenities/service! I am studying abroad in Rome for my spring semester, so myself and three friends decided to come up here for the weekend. My friend booked the hotel on relatively short notice, for a very reasonable price, and the check-in process was very efficient. As soon as you get there, they fill you in on the process: wifi, complimentary breakfast in the morning, and a room off the lobby to store skis and other equipment. The rooms and bathroom were great, and my favorite aspect was the spacious porch, that offered a spectacular view of both the town and mountain. Everyone at the front desk was also super helpful! On our last day, I opted to take a later train and explore, and even after I had checked out, they had no problem with me storing my bags in the ski room until my departure. And when I went to return my ski rentals, and found that someone had mistakenly took mine, Adriano at the front desk was so helpful! He made a few calls and was able to figure out someone had returned mine to a different ski shop, and made arrangements through both shops that I would be able to return everything I had, and for the other ski shop to return the boots the following day. All around great place, it was perfect for us, and can’t recommend it enough!

Was a little apprehensive when booking especially as hotel is listed as 2 star. Location was right in the middle of Cortina - there is no better location. Managed to get a parking spot although it isn't guaranteed. Room was large with a great shower, breakfast was fine - cereals, croissants, ham, cheese etc. Ran by a friendly family who were very helpful. 1 minute from bus stop for ski lifts, superb place for the money, couldn't fault it.

Stayed 2 nights in a single superior room. 3rd floor room with a balcony on the side of building. View of the clock tower. No problem with the bells ringing as they were not 24/7. Room had a comfy queen size bed and a modern bathroom with walking waterfall shower. Basic, clean and comfy for a solo traveller. Wanted to book for 2 nights longer but hotel was fully booked. Breakfast was basic, bread rolls, cheese, salami, jam, yogurt, cereals, etc. Possible to sit on the balcony for breakfast and watch the square right in the centre of Cortina. Staff were friendly. For €70 pernight I can't complain, especially, as the location is central. Easy to get to bus station, bars, shopping. Also, has a lift.

On Friday 8 January 2021, my husband and visited Cortina in Veneto. This was my first visit. The town was beautiful. Unfortunately our car broke down that night and we had to find accommdation for the night. This was not a good time due to the Corono Virus restrictions. We had nothing with us either as were not intending to stay overnight. My husband had stayed in this hotel 10 years ago and remembered it, making the suggestion. We paid €80 for the night. The room was comfortable and hotel very neat and clean. Staff were all very helpful and friendly except for one very arrogant, uncompassionate old man at reception. The morning we checked out, we had to call several mechanics to try get help. They could only assist us after lunch time. We then booked a bus back to Venice and and another one to Jesolo, where we are from, which would depart at 5:30pm. So we had about 4,5 hours to wait. Sadly during all this my husband phone battery was running low and my phone had already died the night before. We needed the phone to show our tickets for the tranfser to Venice. So we went back to the hotel to find out if we could sit quietly in their lobby, buy a coffee from their vending machine and charge our phone. There was no one in reception and we waited 5 minutes for someone to come to reception. We thought maybe they were off duty. So my husband put the phone cable he bought earlier in the plug. Then this old grumpy man came into reception. He told us we could not charge our phone here. He would not listen to anything we had to say. He told us to leave. He would not even allow us to sit there and have a coffee. It was -10 degrees Celcius outside. So we had to sit on a beach of Audi which had a USB charge point in the cold for an hour to charge the phone as no restaurants or shops were open. It is a shame as all the other staff, including the lovely lady with blonde hair at reception and gentle with blue headband were super friendly. I can understand hotel policies as I worked in them for many years, but under our unusual circumstances I found this old man shocklingly uncompassionate. He clearly does not know the meaning of kindness. To all the other staff thank you for making our stay comfortable. Just a tip having working in 5 star hotels around the world, Guest always remember how you made them feel not what services you have on offer. The old man should not be in reception at all as he has no customer service at all and this is what I will remember of your hotel unfortunately.

We had a room with a balcony which is very nice when you want to catch some rays away from the crowd. A good size room with private showed, toilet and bidet, which we like. Very Covid 19 AWARE but what we liked most is the environment conscious in the hotel. Bins to separate waste and soap dispensers. The safety awarenes is of high standard. In short highly recommended.
