We had dinner at Averau. We parked the car and took the lift and then snowcat. Very nice experience to see the Cinque Torri from the snowcat. We had nice local ravioli and a nice bison steak. We couldn't drink too much so we didn't really explore the wine list. The ambience is lovely with Sandro, the owner, always around... More

Superb setting, really good and friendly service, excellent food, only problem was that we shared a dorm with a snorer so sleep quality was poor but that wasn't the fault of the refuge. The shared showers were good and clean. I hadn't really expected hot water so was pleasantly surprised. The bunks were comfy. A towel was provided for showering... More

We stayed the last night of the summer season, so the place was empty. The owner was ever present and very nice. Room was superb. Food was excellent. Service was also excellent. Price was very reasonable. Would absolutely stay again.

Ate lunch there last week with my daughter and our mountain guide after our morning of hiking and traversing the Via Ferrata Averau. I had the beet root ravioli which were phenomenal and also shared a delicious salad. We sat outside on the terrace since it was a warm, sunny afternoon. A memorable experience!

Impressive view, great menu, an ideal place to relax and have your hard earned lunch after having an epic performance on the slopes. It's located at the top of the Cinque Torri and if weather permitting you can sit outside and enjoy the spectacular views to Civetta and Marmolada while enjoying your favorite drink

Averau is great restaurant at Chinque Torri ski area. If you are on the way to Lagazuoi/Hidden Valley, this is definately the place tonhave lunch. The views are great and foodnis excellent - especially the double/triple pasta menu. On Friday evenings, Averau is open. Either touring up (2 hours) or taking lift/ski-scooter combination, is great way to spend your friday... More

Whenever skiing in the Dolomites I always make an effort to have lunch at Rifugio Averau as the food is exceptional and the location is on top of the world. I always order one of the pasta dishes as they tend to have more original sauces than the normal and I have never been disappointed. A few weeks ago I... More

We stayed overnight here in March 2012, it was fantastic. Returned for lunch in Jan 2013...even better. My favourite rifugio in the Dolomites. Food, wine, service, bedrooms, location, all amazing. The grilled Cervo for main was fabulous as was the Tagliolini with Cervo and truffle. I hope to be back before the end of the season.

It is hard to believe that we are eating our lunch at over 2400 meters and that every ingredient for this peerless cooking has somehow to be delivered to the door of this Rifugio; perhaps by Angels, the same ones that work in the kitchen? After a thrilling two hour non-stop ski from Ortisei to Cinque Torri, our appetites growing... More
