Stayed one night. When we arrived on the cable car were disappointed to find building work going on. However this turned to entertainment as the helicopter made repeated visits to the mountain top - just needed James Bond to leap out. Accommodation was very comfortable and cozy and the meal was very good. But just check out those views -... More

We had a great time here in June - amazing views, lovely food (accommodating vegetarians), and beer and wine in the most spectacular setting. We began walking up but there was still a fair bit of snow so went back down and got the last cable car up. We had a section roped off from day trippers for people staying... More

This Rifugio is definitely a place to visit. Warm and clean place, nice and comfortable bedrooms, It was a wonderful surprise. The view of the Dolomites in the morning is priceless, amazing, what else can I say? Is not a 5 stars hotel, but you are not there for high luxuries, the luxury is the view instead...

My first experience in the Dolomites was completed here. A great location with one of the best views. A variety of hiking options from this point. Easy access from parking lot if you want or a nice hike up. The food was good. the accommodation was what to expect for what you are there for. The atmosphere was pleasant. The... More

After staying in absolute lyxury at Averau rated rifugio no. 1 we expected the Lagazuoi bedrooms and shower, as it rated no. 2 after all, to be domewhat similar. We were disappoynted as it was far more rustic and not at all luxurious. More than enough for a miuntain refuge as it is spotlessly clean, with friendly staff, and the... More

For those who haven't ever stayed in a Rifugio (like us before this trip), you must see this one. Even the (somewhat terrifying but completely safe) cable car ride up is something you will tell your family back home. The Rifugio itself is clean, well staffed and very friendly. My wife and I had a private room on the second... More

We have been to many rifugios in the Alps, but as far as location and service, this one is tops. Let me start by saying that we were in the private rooms on the second floor. There are about 10 rooms with either 2, 3, or 4 beds. They then share 3 bathrooms. I may not have provided the same... More

Not much to add to the previous comments... The only downside was the euro 3,50 fee for the tiny shower... But given the location, that's just a detail. The staff and Food - it was all great. Did i mention the location? Wow! Waking up in this place is truly spectacular.

Right on the ridge of the Lagazuoi Wall, this mountain hotel offers an astonishing and unique Dolomites view from the terrace. Moreover, this location has been the scenery of harsh fights 100 years ago... In all, a place to get quiet.

Spectacular views and decent meals, no doubt. Yet for all its beauty, the sleeping quarters at Rifugio Lagazuoi were more rustic, cramped, harsh, and uncomfortable than we could have imagined. Our room was approximately 8x10 feet. The rifugio appears to offer only twin beds, mostly bunks, without ladders, necessitating a dangerous scramble to ascend to or descend from the top... More
