This is a good quality modern hotel in a very old building tastefully converted and with many interesting features. In a great position on the main sea-front promenade facing the sea, five minutes walk from the station for trips to/from Rome, and a few minutes walk or taxi from the port. The road was closed a couple of times while... More

We stayed here one night while waiting to get on the cruise ship. Beautiful hotel, overlooking the beach. Rooms are comfortable, nothing fancy. The breakfast in the morning blew us away. Tables overlooking the sea, a wonderful spread of American and European dishes, and very friendly staff (breakfast included in your stay!). All the of the staff spoke English and... More

We stayed here one night in order to catch a cruise ship the next day. We had a sea view room. It was a Friday night. There was some function happening at the hotel a floor above us. As the night was finishing all we could hear were chairs being pushed and scraping on the floor as people got up... More

Well located old property in Civitavecchia, within walking distance to the Port's principal places of interest, informal dinning experiences and a few minutes cab ride away from the cruise ship piers. Not the quietest. You may want to request a room that does not face the street.

We stayed for 2 nights prior to a Celebrity cruise leaving from Civitavecchia. The hotel was great - good staff, good location, clean, reasonable price and very accommodating. We asked for, and received, a room with a view of the ocean, which was really great. The breakfast was very nice, in a beautiful room with balcony upstairs. Very convenient location... More

Lovely hotel with great views overlooking the sea, room excellent and would deffinately stay again. Food in restaurant very nice and reasonably priced, also a good wine menu. Great start to a cruise holiday with no hassle.

As we were starting a cruise the day after arriving in Rome we decided to stay in Civitavecchia and selected the Hotel San Georgio. We booked a delux double, but given the bedroom was up some steep stairs (with the only TV) that was a mistake. I recommend save your money and book the standard. The staff were friendly and... An older hotel with friendly staff. Interesting layout for many of the rooms, with an interior cast iron stairway leading to the sleeping area. For a fee, they supply very good transport from Rome FCO to the hotel and from the hotel to your ship. While in Civitavecchia, check out the market. It is a hoot.

Visit on average 20 hotel throughot Europe every year and this is the worst. Were charge for internet when told free. Nasty stains in marble around the WC. Room tiny and not clean. Rude receptionist and the breakfast was very poor quality. Avoid!

4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2015

We stayed only one night in Hotel San Giorgio prior to boarding our cruise. It is VERY convenient to both the Port and the train station, with beautiful views overlooking the Mediterranean and the promenade which follows along the sea. Staff were professional. courteous, and helpful. The hotel was spotless and in good repair. Our room was quiet, a good... More
