We were 2 couples, looking for a decent place to stay the night before a cruise out of Civitavecchia (the port of Rome). We were drawn to this hotel based on TripAdvisor reviews, but were not expecting too much. Boy, were we surprised. The hotel provided airport transfer for a reasonable fee, great rooms, free full breakfast and free transport... More

We stayed mid-October 2014 before our Celebrity Cruise. Utilized the hotel transport from the airport to the hotel (at a cost) and the hotel offers free transport to the port. We informed the check-in person of our request for transport to the ship the next day and the earlier shuttles were full so we were able to secure one at... More

We stayed for a night pre cruise, having selected it based mainly on trip adviser reviews. We also used the hotel's transport option so that we were picked up from the airport in Rome and driven quickly and efficiently to the hotel. The high rating is based on the convenience, including the shuttle transfer to the cruise terminal: dinner and... More

We stayed one night prior to our cruise in early November. We arrived early in the morning and were immediately told that our room was available which was a pleasant surprise. The room was small but clean. My only problem was that the cleaning agents they used were highly perfumed and for someone with a sensitivity to odors, this was... More

Borgo del Mare is staffed by friendly people. Even the room maid tracked us down to say thanks for our tip. Young cats from a neighboring home wander by to flirt with visitors. This is a hotel with restaurant, frequented by cruise ship passengers, among others. Since the hotel is only a couple of blocks from the water, one might... More

Thiss continues to be our favorite pre -cruise hotel!! Alesandro, the manager and owner along with the rest of his family, keeps the hotel in good repair and Very clean. Bottled water is free in room and the breakfast is fantastic. Restaurant is available for dinner . We love to sit on the patio in the courtyard and enjoy the... More

Stayed October 17, 2014 prior to a cruise. Really like to support small businesses whenever possible and hesitate to give a negative review, but must share our experience. Chose this hotel mainly based on reviews that it was very clean. Our room was not, it was dirty and dated. The smell in the closet prevented us from putting any clothes... More

We stayed here pre-cruise and it was perfect. Clean, quiet, and friendly. Their amenities are such you don't need to leave if you don't want to. If you'd like though, there is a small market and a couple tavern/restaurants within 10 minutes easy walking. With breakfast and port shuttle included, it's a steal of a deal too. Much less stressful... More

My wife and I spent one night at the Hotel Borgo Del Mar; October 17 prior to taking a cruise. The hote was a hugh disappointment and it was 120 euros for the night. The room was smaller than our walk-in closet at home. The beds and pillows were among the worst that I can remember. The room was dusty... More
