By far, the best thing about this hotel is Guiseppe, he is so helpful, friendly and just plain wonderful. Our flight was delayed but he managed to arrange the change in our taxi pickup time from the airport and welcomed us late in the evening in the rain. We had the bigger family room with 2 beds and a balcony.... More

This hotel and staff go above and beyond. Nothing is too much trouble, organising a beautiful brand new Merc to pick us up for the lovely drive from Rome Airport to helping work out a problem with my internet, (which is great and free) they are just marvellous. The lovely young lady who provides great cappuccino to the ladies in... More

This is our favorite hotel to use when we are taking a cruise from Rome/Civitavecchia. If I were to rate it as a big city or resort hotel, I probably would give it only 2.5-3 stars- it is a good, basic hotel with a basic cold breakfast buffet- nothing particularly fancy or up-scale. Our room has always been a clean,... More

The hotel in itself is just average and not in the best part of town, and is also quite expensive for what you get, but the other options in C'Vecchia are limited and hardly any better. it is a very convenient place to spend a night before a cruise since the car-park where the cruise shuttle-buses depart from is just... Stayed per-cruise, our daughter called the hotel in advance, and Giuseppe arranged for a car to pick us up at the airport for a reasonable fee. As soon as we walked in the door he was there to welcome every guest as if they were coming to visit his home. He showed us where to find the free cruise shuttle... More

We stayed here pre cruise in September, good value for the money , room is average but clean. Shuttle to cruise port is just on other side of hotel, there is a pizza place very close. Staff were friendly and helpful. I would stay here again.

We stayed at Hotel Traghetto, pre-cruise, just before a cruise out of Civitavecchia. We arrived late but everything was great. The reception was very helpful. The rooms were clean and complimentary wi-fi was good (ask reception for the password). We got a Family Room which had 4 beds so all of us could sleep comfortably. Next morning, we had breakfast... For anyone taking a cruise (from any cruise line) out of Rome, be advised that the port that you will be departing from is called Civitavecchia, about 1.5 hrs from Rome. If you decide to arrive a day early in Civitavecchia and stay overnight I might just have the perfect hotel for you; Hotel Traghetto. It is situated approximately 2... More

We were not expecting the Traghetto to be enjoyable. We were getting ready to board our cruise ship the next day anyway. The hotel reviews were mixed, the photos of the building did not inspire confidence, and the location looked downright industrial. But on arrival we were met by a manager (his name escapes me now!) who was so friendly,... More

The greatest asset of this clean and friendly hotel is its location. There is an inexpensive bus from the train station that stops only a block away. At the same location right near the hotel, there are free shuttle buses to the port. The Traghetto was under construction when we stayed there, so there was no elevator, however, the very... More
