The hotel’s management had recently walked out. A Newmarket tour director had complained and asked to take his group out for dinner – and was instructed to pack his bags and leave the hotel. Our Cosmos Tour Director confirmed that the staff were unknown to him, although they apparently claimed to have been there for some time. On our first... more

Stayed as part of a group for 5 days. Faulty Towers is an apt description! Hilarious!........to a certain extent. Evening meal service slow. Bar facilities not very good. A very clean hotel. Bathroom/Toilet facilities very good. Plenty of clean towels. John (Wales) more

We stayed at this hotel for a week - thank goodness it wasn't a fortnight! Best Western should be ashamed to put their name to this hotel. Our room, in the original part of the hotel (there is a newer section which looks OK), was terrible. The wallpaper was peeling off the walls and stained in part and the carpet... more

We stayed as part of an Insight tour and our guide warned us to expect a "Fawlty Towers" level of accommodation - she was right. The air conditioning was the main problem (and had been for several days according to members of another tour group we asked). It was 28 degrees C in the room when we arrived, and never... more

We visited Chianciano Terme from 26th May - 2nd June and stayed at the Hotel Majestic. Our rooms were clean and pleasant and to the side of the Hotel. The maid service was daily with fresh towels placed as a matter of course. We were on half board and the breakfast was continental buffet syle, and the evening meals were... more

We found the hotel to be exceptional in all areas. The accomodations were clean, modern and well presented. The meals were great and good value. The staff is helpful and courteous. We would stay here again. more

We recently stayed at this hotel and we had a very good time. We were in the new wing and our room was spotless and very large. The hotel is very cosy with good atmosphere and we definitely loved the food. Chianciano is a lovely town in Tuscany and a great base to visit nearby towns like Montepulciano, Siena, Orvieto... more

I stayed at the "Majestic" during an organized tour. This hotel was far from Majestic, even the newer wing where I stayed. This newer wing appeared to be from the late 1960s at the latest. More than one person in the group felt the decor was reminiscent of a scene from "The Shining". My room was average size for Europe... more

I, too, spent 2 nights in this hole, as part of an Insight tour. This decrepit relic from the 30's gives Best Western a bad name. The "newer" part of the hotel, where we stayed, dates to the 60's or early 70's, and isn't much better than the old portion. If you are in the "newer" section, it takes two... more

We stayed here for 2 nights as part of an escorted tour. Our room was large, in the newer wing..that is the only thing good I can say. The hotel has one very small elevator in which only 3 people at a time are allowed (or can fit). This was a bit of a problem when we were trying to... more
