I really disagree in the critisism some have given exelsior! This is a very good and very special hotel. Yes, old fashioned - but so is the whole Town! This is what makes it special! If you feel like having outstanding modern hotels u should maybe travel someplace else. This hotel is great, and with fantastic and helpful, polite, happy,... More

We were travelling as part of a tour and found that the grand ground floor was not matched by the rooms. There was no shower curtain so the bathroom became soaked and slippery underfoot. However it was the food that was really terrible. The restaurant did not possess a pepper mill. The pasta served was a simple pasta and tomato... More

Lovely stately old house. Magnificent parlor and entrance hall. Signs of age on closer inspection. Staff pleasant and food good. Lovely swimming pool and viewing area on top floor with great views out over the countryside. Our room was big with good bathroom and Jacuzzi - everything showing its age but not bad. Some guests in our group complained that... More

I absolutely loved this hotel. It was beautiful from the inside and out. I felt like I was transported back in time to the glamorous days of the 1900's. The breakfast was absolutely delicious with fresh bread, cheese, fruit, and eggs. Chianchano, the walled in town, is a 20 minute walk but worth it for the view. I definetely want... More

If you are looking for the ultimate Tuscan countryside experience, then this is the perfect hotel at Chiancano Terme. Situated in a small little town, the property is luxurious and quaint. A small bus stop near the hotel can take you to nearby places such as Montepulciano and Pienza. The breakfast is amazing at the hotel. If you can get a... More

This is truly a Grand hotel! Perched above the quiet town of Chianciano Terme it looks out over the glorious Tuscan landscape. The hotel has an older section and a more modern one. Both parts are beautifully furnished with period pieces and antique collectibles. The effect transports one to a time when civility and hospitality was the norm in travel.... More

Having returned recently from Chianciano, it is with a little sadness I write this review. The Hotel, a bit like the others around it, felt under used and under loved. The Town itself was fairly quiet, and I felt it lacked that 'something special' to bring the tourists and visitors in. With 150 Hotels in such a small area, there... More

We chose this hotel based on an Internet comparison. We were expecting similar conditions, but upon arrival we got much less favourable conditions. That was disappointing. The rooms were ok, but outdated like the rest of the hotel. The guests were mostly pensioners. Overall, the hotel is past its glory days...

The hotel staff is really gentle and friendly. Roooms are nice and clean. The location is perfect since you can easily reach different famous places. There is a PC near the hall and you can also have WIFI paying 5euros.
