Just returned from Tuscany on a Travelsphere tour.the hotel may be a little tired as reported in previous reviews, but everything worked very well, good aircon shower worked very well considering everyone must have been showering at the same time. The staff and management were exceptional. The meals served were OK,our group were seated in a part of the restaurant separate from other... More

I agree with all the positive comments already made about this friendly, ambient and well located hotel. It is situated in a quiet corner of new Chianciano within a pleasant stroll's distance to the Old Town which is quite typical of Tuscan hilltop towns with amazing views. I was really happy with the room as it had plenty of space... More

I stayed at the Villa Ricci last week as part of a "Travelsphere" group. The hotel was a little basic and the choice of menus was somewhat limited but the atmosphere and friendliness of the staff more than made up for any shortcomings. I had upgraded to a room on the 2nd floor with a balcony overlooking beautiful countryside. Due... More

We travelled to Villa Ricci as part of the Travelsphere "Treasures of Tuscany" tour. Very warm welcome from the staff. Our room was clean, comfortable and the view was fantastic (we had paid extra for an upgrade). The room also had a corner balcony with table and two chairs- perfect for watching the ever changing light across the hills. The... More

The old town was very cool! We may have been the only tourists at the time, and only a 5 min walk from the hotel. Great place to visit to get away from the crowds. Friendly staff and the warm pool was available for us to use for only 10euros for our 2 day stay, open from 8 am to... More

Travelled here as part of Travelsphere -Treasures of Tuscany. Was put into room initially next to lift- heard lift on every floor due to bells sounding at every stop. As I had requested and paid extra for a quiet room with balcony went to staff who changed it to quiet room- also with balcony-very pleased. Room was good size, as... More

It seems that all the funding has gone into the basement spas, jacuzzis, massage rooms and so on, at the expense of the rooms and furniture. My heart sank when I first opened our room door. It would be hard to make a room look more dull. And as others have written, the balcony, for which we paid extra, was... More

We stayed at this hotel as part of Travelspheres Treasures of Tuscany. We paid extra for a room with a balcony and did have a nice view over the countryside, but both the room and balcony are in need of refurbishment. The room smelled quite musty when we arrived, it was gloomy and the dated furnishings were very dull. The... More

Stayed for 7 nights at the above hotel as part of Travelsphere Treasures of Tuscany and was advised on booking that upgrade was worth while.. I wonder why as we learned later on from fellow travellers that some non up graders had better rooms... Our balcony consisted of two odd dirty plastic chairs, glass dividers on both sides had huge... Dear T J, I really thank you for your decision to share your experience in our hotel with the Tripadvisor travelers, but I am really sorry concerning the fact that our room didn't satisfy your expectations; I would like only to underline that room 538 is one of our best rooms.
