We weren't expecting to stay at the Kalura, but we were relocated there because the hotel we'd booked had developed electrical problems. Our room was beautifully decorated and gave us a lovely view of La Rocca. The best feature of the hotel was the rocky beach accessible down a flight of stairs from the bar terrace. We were there in... More

We stayed in this "scrooge" hotel for 5 days. If not the sea and view, and trips to Palermo and other places we would have cancelled our stay after 2 days. The best word to characterize this hotel is "stingy". Everything is scarce, stingy, uneatable and of the lowest quality. The breakfast is terrible, all the foods and drinks are... More

We just stayed there in mid June - only for 2 nights - the room we had overlooked the water. It had a kitchen and sitting area - we did not need the kitchen but enjoyed the balcony with the amazing views. The weather was great so we enjoyed swimming down by the waterfront. We had a little communication difficulty... More

The only good things about this hotel are the views and facilities. The hotel has great potential with a fantastic pool, tennis court and snorkelling area. However, the rooms themselves and dated and dirty. Lucky we were only staying one night as we didn't want to risk getting in that shower! The food at the breakfast buffet is very poor... More

I understood that this place would be biased towards German tourist by virtue of its ownership and operations, as well as the reviews I had read that told me to expect many German tourists. They were right. All the signs and information is all in German before other languages. I don't have a problem with it, but as others have... More

Had a room with a wonderful sea view and managed to take in both a sunrise and sunset. Found the hotel staff to be friendly and largely efficient, the manager even made a solo late night visit to the closed bar to get us a few bottles of beer (didn't know it was closed when we asked at reception). Breakfast... More

The first thing that strikes you about this place is the beautiful view you get from a variety of locations within. Our 'superior seaview' balcony room was quite easily the greatest hotel room I've ever experienced. It's blessed to be located in such a setting, and truly striking. It's location is a nice short walking distance (maybe a mile and... More

Hotel Kalura exceeded my expectations. It is a beautiful hotel - the grounds are attractive, the building is impressive, and the resort facilities (pool, and beach, and sunning terraces) are really nice. The beach is very rocky but the water is beautiful and quite comfortable. You can easily walk to Cefalu town on well-marked paths with great views, and it... More

We stayed here for 2 nights whilst touring Sicily. The hotel is just outside the fishing village of Cefalu and is set in a lovely location. We had booked a superior room with a large terrace. The room was very modern with lovely views over the bay. The hotel advertises itself as a 'Sport hotel' and there were various activities... More

The hotel itself was nice enough, though a bit run down and overpriced. It seems to cater almost entirely to German tourists; even the TV stations were all in German. Restaurant waitstaff were insufferably rude at almost every encounter. Our last night there we ended up getting up and walking out after being seated more than 20 minutes with the... More
