My husband and I stayed here for a week September 2013 and loved the spot. Our room was clean ,breakfast was good the staff were very helpful and the location was excellent. A short drive to Cortona excellent food in the village center. We are looking forward to returning.

We have just spent a week in Italy. We stayed at Hotel Duca della Corgna in Castaglione del Lago on the border between Umbria and Tuscane. We travel a lot and have stayed at hotels and B&Bs in many countries. This hotel is one of the absolutely best ones! The service is outstanding, the staff very kind and helpful and... More

DO NOT GO TO THIS HOTEL!. I took my wife and 4 children this summer to Northern Italy for a 3 week trip. We stayed at least at 8 different hotels and I can say without a doubt, this one was a total ripoff. Despite of having booked two rooms for 6 people, they gave us only one with a... More

Nice little hotel with some really nice people running it... Room was clean, breakfast was good. Only critique was the restaurant charged €50 for two dinners that consisted of rice, bread, pasta, french fries, salad w/no dressing, and two small pieces of dry sausage.

I only stayed for two days - and it was enough. The first night, the toilet broke. The first morning, I was woken up at 7:30 am because of all the people going to have breakfast, stomping down the stairs, and slamming the door shut. I went to the reception and asked if I could be moved to another room.... More

It was raining chilly and mid=week while we were there so we had the place almost to ourselves. Not much help from the desk clerk when she could be located. I could see that with better weather this would be a popular place and service might be more attentive. The lake is close but not walking distance. The hotel rents... More

When we arrived in the resort we were a little bit disappointed with area and were the hotel was situated, but we found our room was quite comfortable. The next day we began to see it in a different light when we visited the old centre of town although it is a bit of a walk along a busy road to the... Hotel 10 minute walk to old town with little shade, can be very hot in summer. Only 5 minute walk to station. Staff very helpful but not much English spoken. Rooms very clean. Evening meal very good. Very helpful if vegetarian or food allergies. Pool area a bit tatty only 2 broken umbrellas for shade and no cushions on chairs.

Moderate Hotel – rooms good size, clean, tidy, everything worked. Breakfast reasonable – usual awful juice, moderate hot drinks, but nice rolls, yoghurts, some meat and cheese and a toaster. Large breakfast room downstairs gloomy in winter , but probably taken upstairs / outside in summer. Most of the place shut down for the winter, so not a true comparison.... More

What a charming hotel! Yes, the rooms are small (like most hotel rooms in Italy), but very clean and they make a wonderful cappuccino! It's on the main street heading east into the walled town of Castiglione Del Lago. The owners and staff definitely go out of their way to take care of you. Our one checked bag didn't arrive... More
