We chose this hotel because we wanted to be located in a village/small town so we could sample some of the fantastic wines this area produces, after spending the days exploring, without worrying about driving or taxis.....and this place was perfect! It is centrally situated within the wonderful small town of Castellina in Chianti, where you will find a few... More

Our family of four happened upon this little gem during our explorations of Tuscany. After spending several days in a very nice yet remote villa we were looking for a combination of both a relaxing holiday combined with some form of entertainment at our door. This place filled that order beautifully. We had a large well appointed room that could... More

This hotel is comfortable. The room was huge, the view was wonderful from our room. If you stay at this hotel make certain to have a room with a view as the other rooms face the street. Breakfast is served in the garden, which is lovely and the breakfast is very nice as well. The view from the garden is... More

We stayed 2 nights in Castellina in Chianti and it took us little time to understand what this town has to offer. There is not as much to see in this town as other Tuscan towns and cities, but the residents are rightfully proud of their town. And it is easy to understand why - this town is about slowing... More

I traveled here from the U.S. and stayed for 5 nights. The place was amazing. The people at reception were more than happy to help me arrange transportation to cities near by like San Gimignano and Siena. They offered taxis, bus info, and train info. They were willing to hold my luggage prior to checkin and also after checkout since... More

We stayed 4 nights at this beautiful hotel which is situated right in the centre of the Castellina village, and yet within 10 minutes drive you are in the enchanting Tuscan countryside. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and speak very good English. The hotel restaurant was only opened about 4 months ago and it is excellent! We had... More

We stayed a week in this perfect village hotel situated in cobblestoned Castellina-in-Chianti, which has cafes, shops, Etruscan tombs, and medieval walls. The friendly staff was very helpful. Our room was wonderfully large, with a TV (that we did not turn on), a modern bathroom equipped with small shower and bidet. We never tired of looking out our windows at... More

My husband and I stayed here for four nights and were very charmed by the location. On the Main Street which was very convenient - stunning views out the back. Our room was very large and included a double bed and sofa. The bathroom was also a good size and all was very clean. The receptionists were always very helpful... More

My room overlooked the valley. Spacious with a comfortable bed. Bathroom larger than all the others we stayed in while in Italy. Located in small town that was fun to walk through and also a short drive away from other towns. Helpful, friendly staff. Son's room was of course smaller without the view but as he is more a world... More

A perfect place to stay in beautiful Tuscany! The staff very friendly and helpful, the views from our room overlooking the vine clad valley stunning and the spa very welcome after a tour of touring. Have just opened a Taverna next door which was fabulous. Would highly recommend Palazzo Squarcialupi and would love to stay here again!
