Wonderful location just a few km from Castellina in a tiny, tiny charming Tuscan village of the same name, we came to tour the winery and tasting, but had a chance to view the accommodations - quite splendid. Tuscan farmhouses and ancient buildings repurposed as rental villas. Makes for a great base for exploring the Chiant Classico area and beyond.... More

I can't help but feel a little disappointed by our experience at Castello di Fonterutoli. Nothing to complain about, but after 4 nights staying here with my husband in Sep, I felt somewhat underwhelmed. OK, so what's great about it? It's in a brilliant spot if you want to explore the Chianti region. Florence and Siena are less than an... More

Very authentic, very small Toscana village and our house had 3 rooms, with one main room and dining room in between. Just as we wanted, we stayed in an original Tuscan house. After long day of visiting the wineries, we appreciated the dinner and the wine in the osteria. The wine list includes the notes given by Parker and other wine... More

My husband and I stayed here for the first two nights of our honeymoon and it was an excellent start. We loved the decor of the place, it was very country chic yet in keeping with the surroundings. We had a large and comfortable room off a sociable shared living room, dining room and kitchen. I'd really recommend paying for... More

My wife and I got the last room here as we passed through the Chianti region. It seems to be run by a great small team of people who go out of their way to make you feel welcome and cared for. On arrival we did some tasting of Mezzei's lovely wines. Our room was part of a lovely apartment... More

We stayed in the family room (couple + two kids) for 6 days and had a great experience! The place is magic, you feel totally inserted in a Tuscan village! It is beautiful and charming, and the breakfast is fantastic (served in the restaurant in front of the villa). The wine shop and wine tour are also very nice. You... More

My husband and our three boys (7,5 and newborn) stayed at the Castello di Fonterutoli in their 2-bedroom apartment in July 2015 for a week. The property was unbelievable (true Tuscan paradise) and the service even better. This was our second visit to Fonterutoli as my husband and I got engaged here 10 years ago (my husband claims he got... More

This is a brilliant property set in a really old village and adjacent to a vineyard (owned by the Mazzei family - it's been producing wine for 25 generations!). The B&B is quite beautiful (tends to get awfully quiet at night). The room & bathroom both, are first rate. One downside is that other than the restaurant on the property,... More

We spent 4 nights at the Castello di Fonterutoli, and we could not be more impressed with the entire experience. We were provided a beautiful and spacious room in one of the villas, with a large private bath and shared access to an incredible living room and kitchen. The property was superbly kept. We enjoyed walks nightly around the vineyards... More
