We spent 4 nights at the Castello di Fonterutoli, and we could not be more impressed with the entire experience. We were provided a beautiful and spacious room in one of the villas, with a large private bath and shared access to an incredible living room and kitchen. The property was superbly kept. We enjoyed walks nightly around the vineyards... More

I went to Fonterutoli to celebrate my wedding anniversary (11th !!!) because a friend of mine, wine expert and owner of a restaurant with 1 Michelin star, suggested their restaurant. Looking at their web site I saw their hotel facilities and decided to stay overnight. The evening has been simply unforgettable, the sunset, the birds, the wonderful room, the nice... More

Beautiful experience the one just lived in Fonterutoli, very quiet village in the heart of Chianti. Rooms and facilities are furnished with simplicity and elegance. The common areas convey the feeling of being at home. The staff is very kind, helpful and efficient (super Jeany!). Also good is the dinner at the Osteria di Fonterutoli, where you can taste excellent... More

we were there for four days. very romantic, pure tuscan ex and interieur, reliable price, a place with lot of potential. BUT: the food was ok, not comparable to other restaurants in the area with the same standard. rooms are nice, rustic and charming, but with an old shower in the batht. wifi was completely off, which is in these... We arrived here not having visited Tuscany before. Castello di Fonterutoli is an old Tuscan village set on the hillside and is a collection of beautiful old stone buildings around a small church. It is owned by the Mazzei family and has produced it's own fine wines since 1435. The views all around are stunning and the accommodation did not... More

My third visit here and second, staying for more than a night. I truly love this place and even trying to find something that could have been done better - I can not. This is a wonderful, peaceful and beautiful spot i Chianti. The food at the osteria is excellent, the wines among my favorites in the world ( I'm... More

Stayed in the Loggia room for one night and we really enjoyed our stay. Nice attention for my husband's birthday in the room. Do go for the wine tour and have a dinner at the Osteria. Great service from reception to dinner. Thank you for your hospitality.

The place is nice, the rooms are well furnished. We were told AFTER booking the room that we could only check in between 11-14 OR 18-19 h because the road in front of the hotel was closed due to a race. At dinner, we were told that the road was also going to be closed the following day, and we... More

Castello di Fonterutoli was the perfect spot for us - full of history, magnificent views and a great room/house to stay in. We were looked after very well by Jean who is the housekeeper and the smiling person who serves breakfast every day - she was a real gem. The downside was the restaurant service in the evening, we went... More

Beautifully set in Castellina, Castello di Fonterutoli offers visitors the opportunity to live the authentic Tuscany experience. Warm, welcoming interior areas and picturesque exterior surroundings compose the magnificent "package" on offer. This, however, is not complete without (at least) a meal at the Osteria Fonterutoli, which is nearby and offers a deliciously modern take to traditional Tuscan cuisine, and, of... More
