This is the place to stay in Cassino if you are visiting the battlesites or indeed any of he surrounding area such as the Arunci or Abbuzzi mountains. It is a family run hotel and Pino the owner is a gem! He went out of his way to answer any questions we had on the Cassino campaign. He has a... More

We had a 3 night stay here. I can't praise Pino, the owner, enough. He went out of his way to make us feel welcome, to give us mountains of information (pardon the pun) on the WW2 battles at the mountain, the cemetary, the history - then even walked 2000 ft up to the two top points of the mountains... I have recently returned from a three night stay at this hotel and have nothing but praise for the welcome I received and friendliness of the owner Pino, his family and staff. I visited Cassino because of my interest in the WW2 Italian campaign as my father served with the 2nd Polish Corps and wanted to see the Abbey and... More

We originally found this hotel through tripadvisor and read the reviews with interest, as we were looking for a hotel in this area to continue our search for a relative lost in the battle of Monte Cassino. We could not have chosen a better hotel as the host Pino and his staff provided us with incredible information and services during... More

Had a three night stop intending to visit the abbey and battlefield. Pino the hotel owner went above and beyond anything we could expect to make our stay the best it could be. His knowledge and passion for the battle's history is second to none and he supplied us with maps of the area allowing us to explore away from... More

This is a great place to stay if you are going to visit the abbey, or go on the many walks along the footsteps of the soldiers who fought in this campaign. The knowledge that the hotel owner(Pino) has about this historical place. My two brothers and myself, were most welcomed, we e-mailed the owner as to our visit due to... More

Hotel La Pace is a must for your stay in this general area! If your interest is in the battles of Montecassino and those associated with it you will NOT find a better guide than hotel owner Pino Valente and his new guide partner Alecia! What tremendous knowledge. Best tours we've ever experienced, and that includes tours done on WWII... More

Positive: Close to hike up to Montecassino, Owner knowledgeable about the history and trails. Rooms with a great view of the abbey. Negative: Hotel was without staff for 3 afternoons over Christmastime. Luckily, when the Internet went down the owner happened to stop by and fixed the problem; otherwise, the front desk phone was not being answered except for voicemail.... More

Our hotel is family run, my family lives behind the hotel. In Christmas time we are very happy to give opportunity to all the staff to stay with their family, also because we celebrate christmas dinner privately in the hotel. So, the 24th, 25th and 26th December the Reception is "out of service" from 4pm, guests are able to access... More

Like other reviewers, we were in Cassino to visit the battlefields which my father-in-law had fought in during WWII. This hotel is a perfect jumping off spot. We had a clean, comfortable room with a large balcony and a great view of the Montecassino Abbey. The hotel has many WWII artifacts in the lobby and the owner is a great... More
