1913: more than 100 years ago, a slaughterhouse was built in Casale Monferrato, it was the the biggest one in the Province of Alessandria. It consisted of several buildings: one for administrative purposes, one was used as a stall for animals and another one was the real slaughter area. Fortunately, in year 2000, the activity was definetively converted from the... More

We had a conference in this hotel. It has a wonderful tranquil cloister like central space. It's sad when you hear that it used to be an abbatoir. It is always interesting to stay in historic buiilding that have been re-purposed and I liked this hotel even though the rooms were a little neglected. They a spacious and pleasant but... More

On business had a few nights stay here. On premise restaurant was very good fare, although pricey. Still a delicious meal and no need to walk elsewhere. But if you do want to walk a bit (in Europe-why not!?) this hotel is so close to the city center you will find many a culinary treasure nearby. Also the historic castle... More

I stayed there for business , visiting the factory of the corporation i work for. Clean , quite rooms , spacious , friendly stuff. Breakfast can be a bit more enriched but it is not bad.I think that it is a "value for money" location.

We found this hotel quite by chance as we were travelling through Casale Montferrato enroute to Cinque Terre. The welcoming reception was very nice and friendly and we stayed just 1 night . Importantly the rooms were clean and quiet , had a bath and the Tv worked fine and the rooms were really quite big ( with a big... More

We stayed here for 1 night as part of a cycling tour. The hotel is a short walk from the old part of town. Rooms are very spacious, nicely appointed and overlook a grassed courtyard. It was hot when we stayed there and the AC struggled a bit. Staff were ok - experienced better and worse. Breakfast spread was ok... More

Kind staff, good size of rooms, very good restaurant. Wifi EUR 5 for 24h. Big parking. The breakfast buffet is not very big and the tv is as old and as of poor quality that no channel can be watched.

Stayed for one night while en route to Tuscany. The receptionist, a loofalike for Russell Crowe in Gladiator, was less than welcoming. Our room was large and comfortable and the bathroom benefitted from a bath as well as a shower. The bed was fine too. Breakfast was standard continental fare and the breakfast room was well managed by a woman... More

Used this hotel several times on bizz trip. Not far from the factory I was visiting and within a city limit, good for eve walk. Service is average. Rooms are comfortable, but no one cares about protection against mosquitoes which are quite hungry in the area. B-fast is very poor, classic Italian. Bathroom is big and clean. Well equipped. Quiet... More

The Candiani is a small property in the heart of the village. The 4 stars it has are over rated, I do not know where italian hotels get their stars from. The hotel is clean, confi and the rooms are spacious. The price is correct for Italy. If you need to sleep in the area for one night the Candiani... More
