The cycling is why we went to Bormio - so many mountains, so little time, hey? - but I have to admit our time at Hotel Funivia easily matched the experience in the mountains. The place is relaxed. Warm. Friendly. Nothing was too much for Daniele and his staff - they provided help, information, great food, etc, if and when... More

I chose the Funivia because it caters to cyclists in summer and offers group rides. Initially I planned to travel solo - hence the group rides were the clincher. Thankfully I invited my boyfriend at the last minute - otherwise I would have been a solo female cyclist surrounded by macho, unfriendly hammerheads. The infamous Velominati rule #5 (look it... The Hotel Funivia is a wonderful place to stay. Especially if you are planning on cycling in the Italian Alps. It's a family owned hotel and the family running it are wonderful hosts. They've done an excellent job staffing the hotel as well. Everyone I've met is gracious, caring, and friendly. The price is an incredible bargain considering all that... More

Stayed two nights in Hotel Funivia with 4 couples. One of the best hotel experiences we have experienced! The guys rode Passo Stelvio through the supported hotel ride; the ladies explored the town. The hotel was clean, staff extremely friendly. All 4 couples would highly recommend staying at this hotel! I will be back at this hotel.

Cannot rate highly enough. Went above and beyond our needs including providing food late at night following a logistics error on our side. Real friendly, family atmosphere, great advice, great assistance and a mega Cycling Cafe in the basement to cater for 're-hydration'!! Thanks so much for a very enjoyable stay.

I should not tell you how good Funivia is, because it would mean they will be so booked out that I can't get the best period for visiting and tempting Stelvio, Gavia and Mortirolo. They may be 3 stars in equipment but 7 stars in service, care and friendliness. They gave me an extra pillow without asking when I put... More

Cycling in the Bormio area certainly lived up to all my expectations. What exceeded them was Hotel Funivia and its partnership with Stelvio Experience. Hotel has comfortable and stylish rooms, fantastic quality (and quantity) of food and helpful service. Storage and workshop facilities for cyclists are first rate. The supported rides take all the stress out of what is a... More

Excellent hotel for cyclists. Great workshop and storage. Superb food - and plenty of it and very friendly staff. One of the main attractions is the proximity to the Stelvio, Gavia and Mortorolo and the staff are on-hand to advise on routes.

The general consensus following the 2014 edition of 'Giro di Leechio' was that the Passo dello Stelvio was the must do climb for 2015. The Hotel Funivia was a no brainer from the word go. It already had great reviews that extended beyond Tripadvisor and was raved about on cycling forums (dullard, I know!). The facilities for cyclists are the... More
