The place is big stone old and monastic. And its situation is fantastic. way up on the hills overlooking Arezzo. Hard to find. The trick is to find Via de Redi and turn left at the sign to Pomaio not afterwards. And keep going. Up and up and up -and up. The staff make this place. Joseph Fiori and Valentina... More

Excellent and friendly service in the resturant and at the desk. Lovely rooms with fabulous views over Arezzo. Easy access into center city, less than 15 minutes. The first time it can be a little challenging to find, but not too bad. Excellent dinner menu, try the wrapped pork and the duck carpaccio salad, if they are available...and if you... More

We stayed at the Badia for several nights during our honeymoon in May 2012. Our travel agent reccomended this as the best place in the area and of all of our stops in Italy, this was the one he gave us no other options for. He insisted it was the best. As a couple that generally stays in large brand-name... More

we used this as our base for 6 days of touring around Tuscany and Umbria and couldn't have asked for a more serene and tranquil place to return to each evening. the location is not easy to find as it is about 5 km up the hill side on a very narrow and winding road with hair pin turns. Do... More

We stayed at the Badia for 3 nights in early September. It is a great place to get away from it all. The hotel is 6 kms up the hill and overlooks Arezzo. The grounds are quite large and the pool is huge and is open 24 hours per day, all year. The price includes a decent breakfast and they... More

We stayed here on two occasions during a visit to Tuscany this summer. We were warmly welcomed the first time but when we returned for another short stay a week later, it felt as though we were visiting friends. The staff were wonderful - friendly and so helpful. My husband left an expensive camera in a taxi which ferried us... More

We have stayed here before and if anything it was more enjoyable this year. It's easy to get to a variety of Renaissance gems from this location and is a good spot if, like us you are stunned by the beautiful paintings of Perio della Francesca, Arezzo, Sansepolcro and Monterchi . The hotel is set in the countryside overlooking Arezzo... More

Trying to find the "perfect" hotel for our final stay in Italy after 10 days of touring, I selected this property. It might have worked if we weren't so very frustrated upon arrival. The source of our annoyance: we could NOT find this hotel. Without a street address and only location listed, our GPS could NOT determine where to send... More

This lovely old monastery is now a luxurious, well appointed retreat outside Arezzo. We were in Arezzo for a wedding, so first we discovered the town, staying at the Garden B & B, then we were picked up by the staff for a glorious stay at the Badia di Pomaio. The food, rooms and decor were first rate. We thoroughly... More
