I am not much into personal jewellery but in this town i always find some intricately tooled work of interest to my male vanity. We booked a room outside the city at this lovely Tuscan castle sitting nestled in the hills of Arezzo. Nearby is agreat fuel-stop, a restaurant named Buca di San Francesco, a lovely space with frescoed rooms.... More

This is an ancient and authentic Tuscan castle, which (together with a good part of the surrounding hillside and valley) has apparently been in the family since an ancestor wisely helped the Medicis with a territorial dispute in the 15th century. There is no doubt who owns it: the Palleggi crest is everywhere. But is all as it seems? There... More

Castello val di colle is a beautiful old mansion sitting up on the hills of Arezzo....although it is not super easy to find at first, once you have found it, you will see that it is very easy to get around from there to anywhere in Tuscany.....the reason I am saying this is because if you decide to stay there... My family and I have travelled all over Europe and Castello Val di Colle will be a stand-out memory that we will talk about for the rest of our lives. Vacations are supposed to be relaxing and EVERYTHING about Castello Val di Colle eliminates stress and creates laughter. Each day after our Tuscany tour we would look forward to going... More

Amazing Castle, Incredible Food, Great Family Cooking Class with Chef Julio, Best View ever from the pool overlooking the countryside, Best Hosts and Hostesses, Giovanni, Renee & Caleb, and staff... Gretchen, Katarina etc. We came as guests, and left feeling true kinship. Renee and Giovanni went way beyond our expectations helping us understand and plan each day better than the... More

We only stayed here for one night but by the time we left we felt we had made new friends. Nothing was too much trouble for Renee and Pier Giovanni and their staff. We genuinely felt as if we were friends of the family rather than guests in a hotel. The Castello is delightful, as are the owners. If you... More

My husband and I were travelling Italy for 2 weeks and because we are big wine nuts who travel to Napa California on a yearly basis we wanted to ensure we picked the right place for our 6 night stay in Tuscany. It took a lot of researching but it was well worth it, we chose Arezzo for the location... More

My sisters and I, along with my parents went to meet cousins living in Cortona. The hotel they suggested was booked so we found this hotel on Trip advisor. I am so glad we did. First of all the owners both speak English, which of course was a great relief and help in navigating the territory. But the castle! I... More

I had a very important celebrity client asked to make an appearance in Tuscany recently, which is a place I have dreamed of visiting my whole life, specifically Arrezo. We were blessed and fortunate enough to stay at Castello Val Colle, a castle high up on a hill top surrounded by a beautiful view, olive trees and a vineyard which... More

6 of us stayed at this wonderful castle high on the hilltops of Arezzo for 6 nights starting in April 2014. Our hosts, Renee, Giovanni and Caleb made us feel as though we were in our own homes. Their staff was very attentive and always ready with a cup of coffee or a glass of their wine in the afternoon.... More
