From the moment we arrived, our stay at Villa Athena was nothing short of wonderful. Service was gracious, our room far exceeded expectations, and the dining was among the best in Sicily. Can't praise the whole experience enough!

perfectly located for the temples we were upgraded to the presidential suite with a terrace facing the Temple of Concordia and a similar view through the porthole window in the bathroom;so that could not be bettered (as others have remarked not all rooms have temple views and i would stay in town if a temple view room is not available)... Beautiful hotel, wonderful setting. Breakfast was full of surprises e.g almond milk. Dinner on the terrace with the view of the temples was memorable. Extras included a garden tour, an evening visit to view the temples with ice cream sadly we had to leave and missed the cookery demonstration.

This is a great small hotel. It would be worth every (quite a few) dollar even without the awesome views of the nearby Temple of Concord, one of the great Greek temples, and the beautiful Temple of Hera further away. Ask for a room with a balcony. The service is great, the room luxurious and beautifully appointed and the dinner... More

We wanted to go to see the Valley of the Temples but ended up realizing this hotel is a destination in and of itself. The website doesn't do the hotel justice; to sit by the beautiful, sleek Poland look onto Greek ruins is...unbelievable. Practicalities: the breakfast buffet is excellent with a good range; lunch and dinner solid and well executed... More

We treated ourselves to this hotel for 2 nights and it was worth every penny. The hotel is situated in the Valley of the Temple park and the view is amazing even form the bathroom window We had a room with a private terrace and view of the temples.. You can walk to the temples - we went morning and... More

Get a room with a balcony, light up a Cuban, sip your cocktail and ''take it in''!! If walking is a problem you won't miss much if you just take it in from your room......a great vista of a well kept Concord temple and good view of temple Hera. Large bathrooms with walk-in showers and a view of the temple.... More

This is the only hotel which is right next to the Valley of the Temples, and from which the site and museum can be easily reached on foot. That being so, it commands premium prices and must be booked several months in advance. But it is certainly worth it. The decor is bright, clean and stylish. A wonderful dinner on... More

Our family stayed in 3 rooms at this gorgeous hotel during a trip around the entire island of Sicily, and we LOVED the property. As reviewers have said, there is no better located hotel in Agrigento. At night and during the day you have a perfect unobstructed view of the Temple. The hotel is pricey, but as others have also... More

Stayed there during the first day of our honeymoon, with a booking made 3 months in advance (we have highest status with SLH loyalty program so should have been entitled to some benefits). Ended up with the worst possible room, with view on parking lot, extremely poorly maintained shower room (no bath, damaged furniture, rotten shower head, dirty tiles, etc.).... More

Dear Guests, Unfortunately we are not very surprised to read these so negative comments about the quality of our hotel, the rooms and the staff, considering the fact that your stay at Villa Athena started to not be up to the standards SLH from the moment the receptionists explained with absolute kindness that an upgrade to a room with a...
