I stayed at this BB few weeks ago for 10 days. It was very conveniently located in the historical centre, and also quite close (5-10 minutes walk) to the bus and train terminals. The nuns prepare delicious sweets based on local recipes, which they serve at breakfast. The big thing about the breakfast is that the guests have to share... More

We have spent a night at Monastero Santo Spirito, and very pleased with the overall and rooms. Situated at the highest part of Agrigento, nice view on the valley (ask for rooms with view), all the conforts like fridge, wifi internet, TV and common kitchen where you can fix food closer to a dining room. Spectacular Monastery with annexes 1300... More

A beautiful place as well as lovely welcoming and servicing. The monastery is well located however not so easily accessible. Parking inside. Rooms are small but clean and quite. It is possible to cook and breakfast is very good. I really advise this place.

Staying in a monastery is always an interesting experience. This time price/quality ratio is great, the nuns are very helpful and the food they offer is amazing - don't miss the typical sicilian cookies, the best of the best, even better than Maria Grammatico ;) Unfortunately the position if you have a car, is not easy to reach. And one... More

You can stay a few days at Agrigento, base to visit nearby and Getaways to the beaches, while taking advantage of the authentic city. To be permeated of this small town, the better is to stay with our friends the Sisters of the monastery Santo Sprito where you will be welcomed by the cheerful of sister Faustina. The breakfast is... The four days I spent at this B&B were truly amazing. It is in the heart of the historic district, so many sites were within walking distance. Access to the valley of the temples & archeological museum was a short bus ride away. The room with private bathroom was clean and comfortable. The continental breakfast was delicious with some of... Ticked all the boxes clean quiet friendly and extremely helpful staff, would stay here again. Close to transport hubs, trains buses and has parking if you have a car. Agrigento can be a bit tricky to drive around in, due to the nature of the roads because it was built up in ancient times, but the staff will even come... More

We reserved a larger room but received a room just big enough for the bed. The bathroom smelled so bad we had to keep the door shut so we could breathe. Breakfast served by the nuns was homemade and good but they were all like deserts. The place is extremely hard to find. The nuns were nice but this was... More

The B&B is run by a lovely nun who provides spotlessly clean rooms and ensuites. There is also a communal kitchen and dining room so particularly suitable if travelling in a group as we were. This is very centrally located but is still very quiet. We had no hot water and this was fixed within the hour - obviously the... More

This place is confortable as living in your own house but in the core of the historical center of Agrigento. Very quiet and close to the main attractions of the City. Is well equipped with a kitchen, two TV set and a big dining room. Not to talk about the nouns hospitality... and their sweets... Can you imagine "sweet cous... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Holy Spirit Monastery - Cistercian Nuns. The Holy Spirit Abbey, known as "the Great Abbey" (in the “Bataranni” dialect), is an ancient Cistercian abbey for nuns. It was founded between 1290 and 1295. The Cistercian monastic community, preserved uninterruptedly until today, continues to perpetuate its original venerable traditions, including the practice of hospitality, a very old form of evangelization, which was always exercised in monasteries living under the rule of St. Benedict, as well as the preparation of sweets made of almond paste and pistachio. The B & B "Holy Spirit Monastery", annexed to the monastery, is the ideal place to spend your holidays thanks to its favorable location in the historical city center. It consists of bright and comfortable single and double rooms with private bathroom, all rooms are equipped with all facilities and comforts, air conditioning, heating and TV. You can also have a kitchenette complete with accessories, an oven, a fridge and a dining area. Throughout the year breakfast is prepared by the expert hands of the nuns, offering you a remarkable assortment of homemade sweets, including tastings of the century-old pastry tradition of the monastery, such as couscous with pistachio and almond paste. ... more   less
