We stayed at the centre for two nights in a cabin. Our experience was mixed and a little disappointing. Starting with the positives: The food is very good. Fresh local ingredients are used and are cooked well. The Co-owner Ingvild is friendly and is trying her best. The cabins are clean and well equipped The view over the fjord is... More

This is in my books the best camping ground in Norway. It is super clean, super friendly, beautiful view, great cabins, decent breakfast (if you wish to take it, good value), and it is big enough to still be able to feel independent and not crammed on top of each other. Friluftsenter is great!

I stayed here during March 2014 and can honestly say I had some of the best food I have ever tasted. Everything was freshly cooked and nothing was too much trouble for the hosts, Nigel and Ingvild. The hotel is in a great location and we were fortunate to see the Northern Lights most nights and even more incredibly right... More

Location is wonderfull, in the middle of a beautiful fjord and surrounded by nature. The cabins are very comfortable and cosy, and very convient for watching the northern light. The cabins have windows on all sides, so it was easy to see the northern light from inside. The main building with the restaurant looked very attractive and Nigel is very... More

Nigel and Ingvild have a gem of a place overlooking the stunning Buksnesfjord. You are nestled 40 metres from the fjord and 100 metres from mountains. After a very lumpy landing into Evenes and driving a hire car ( Europcar very good) through hurricane force winds of 78 knots for 2 hours we were so relieved to reach this wonderful... More

What a wonderful base for our hectic 4 day stay in Norway to photograph the Northern Lights. Nigel and Ingavild were perfect hosts, the food was fantastic - it was just unfortunate that we had to rush out mid-eating one evening to chase the lights. The location is wonderfully picturesque and the walk to the frozen lake and fishing experience... More

Our little cottage on the slope tilted somewhat towards the fjord. Having ensured that it was stable enough, we could sleep soundly, though. The staff was friendly, although on one occasion I encountered a girl behind the counter who didn't understand my impeccable Norwegian, so I had to shift to English... We cooked our own meals, so I have no... More

Fabulous evening at this hotel- we started with a meal in a wooden Yurt-type structure which was blazing hot- Nigel & Ingavild were most hospitable. stayed on for drinks and then we had fireworks and then the Northern Lights turned up! all made better by Discover Arctic AS's super staff but I would happily stay at this venue. Drinks were... More

I can only speak as a camper, and I must say that the staff is anything but welcome. Condescending and unfriendly staff, overall. Do not expect even a unfriendly hello. The only reason I would stay here again, is because that it's too far to the next camp. For those not camping, I would rather choose Marmelkroken 20km (12 miles)... More
