“Avoid the annexe, I beg you”

We reserved a room in the annexe. Quelle erreur! Quelle horreur! It reeked of damp (in July), the 'double bed' was waif-sized, the bathroom dank and narrow. We transferred to a room in the chateau: tolerable (and blessedly dry) but seriously overpriced. As frequent travelers to France we always return to Chateau De La Vallee Bleue. We love the spacious rooms(the George Sand is lovely), the delicious meals, the beautiful grounds with the pigeon coop,the friendly and efficient staff. “Overnight in Central France”

Within an easy days drive from Calais this is well located for an overnight stop when driving south.This is also "George Sands", the author, country - her Chateau is just down the road- and the Vallee Bleue was infact her doctor's home. I stayed several times at Chateau de la Vallee Bleue, last time was in 1999, therefore my impressions are not brand new, but I don´t think it has changed a lot in the meantime.
