Friendly service, warm welcome, really nice garden, small but good and clean pool, airconditioned bedrooms, perfect gourmet type dinners served by the owners. Classical music and nice atmosphere. Hopefield is a very homely guest house out in the middle of nowhere. It's an ideal location for visiting Addo Elephant park, otherwise very remote and isolated. The country house is very relaxing. The rooms are beautifully decorated and spacious, the garden wonderful. A warm welcome from Kobus and Gerhard and a very friendly staff. the highlight of our stay at hopefield was the food! Fantastic dinner and breakfast! We stayed 2 nights while viewing addo and doing the scotia safari and found the lodge perfect. we felt safe and went for morning walks in the surrounding country side. The only thing was there was no tv in the bedroom. overall 5 stars!
