My boyfriend and I stayed at the Chedi for 3 nights just before Christmas and we loved it. I was a little nervous after reading the tripadvisor reviews, but it turned out to be great. The design is stylish (minimalist but not cold or sterile) and the rooms are spacious (we stayed in a club deluxe room). The hotel is... More

Just back yesterday from 7 nights in a Club Suite at the Chedi. I have given quite a bit of consideration to what I could say about this hotel. Previous reviewers have all been quite accurate in their comments. Differences I believe only arise from reviewers personal bench marks. I agree in most part with both the good and bad... More

We have just returned from a three nights stay in Chedi. This is our first trip to Oman and to a Chedi Hotel. First, let me tell you the plus points before going into the negatives (which is much more, unfortunately). Chedi is serene and a quiet place for couples. The service around the pool and the beach is commendable.... More

Fully agree with previous contribution - Just came back from a week in the Chedi the other day – a few personal remarks which might help... In general excellent and very helpful and friendly staff – esp. in the main restaurant – good trained and on their marks ! The quality of the food was good sometimes very good –but... More

If only the experience of staying in the Chedi matched its looks. As other reviewers have observed, the hotel's design is stunningly 'Zen', the infinity swimming pools are the best I've experienced and the service excellent. However to warrant 5 stars, let alone comments like 'best hotel anywhere', the Chedi needs to rectify a host of irritating features. Our room... More

A truly wonderful hotel. The best of modern design, lighting and water features that I have come across. The beds and sun beds were exceptionally comfortable and decor and rooms very pleasing and easy on the eye. Food exellent and service exemplary in all areas and in every way. A totally tranquil and relaxing experience. We stayed in a deluxe... More

Just got back from The Chedi. Fabulous service, Superb Food, Excellent Suite. Ultra relaxing. Perhaps a bit too much for three weeks. The Spa was extremely well run. Not much to dislike. Menu a tad limited for that duration. We had no problem with beach sunbeds, apart from the pool boys insistence on turning them to face the sea every... More

We stayed here for 3 nights at the end of November. This hotel is absolutely stunning. From the moment we got there and to the moment we left the service was absolutely impeccable. We stayed in a club room, which was really nice - free mini bar with loads of drinks - well worth it! Can you believe free laundry... More

What can I say - a truly spectacular hotel. One of the best hotels I have ever stayed at, and I have stayed in quite a few 5 star hotels. I would recommend anyone to go who has an interest in modern design as this hotel simply has to be the best there is, far superior to any of the... More

First I would like to comment on previous feedback. Beach, I agree needs a tidy up, the stones and pebbles need to removed Front entrance uninspiring but given the area of land would probably be very expensive to do anything with. Loungers, plenty of them some were booked early (by Americans) but there was plenty to go round, I counted... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Occupying a prime beachfront location, this exclusive 21-acres 5 star beach resort is located 20 minutes north of old Muscat, the capital of The Sultanate of Oman, at Al Ghubra. The Chedi Muscat is ideally located for business and leisure travelers alike as the main tourist attractions, the financial centre and Muscat International Airport are only a 15 minutes drive away. The Chedi Muscat, a member of “The Leading Hotels of The World” and Oman’s first contemporary hotel, opened its doors in 2003. The resort offers understated elegance and a perfect mix of Omani architecture and a profound Asian Zen-style. The minimalist lines of the low-rise buildings are accentuated by gardens of symmetrical simplicity, with lines of manicured hedges and ordered pools of water, creating an implacable Zen calm. All 158 rooms have breathtaking views across the gardens and ponds, mountains and the Gulf of Oman. As well as a 370m private beach, The Chedi Muscat offers guests a choice of three pools: the adults-only infinity Chedi Pool, surrounded by cabanas and with a superb seafront location and the recently opened 103-metre outdoor pool The Long Pool, and the family friendly Serai Pool, with its black mosaics and elegant canopy plus 2 flood lit tennis courts. ... more   less
