Full marks – hosts Richard and Jane are so attentive and helpful, the house is so comfortable and well-maintained and the breakfasts are substantial (if you want) and healthy (if you want). It was very helpful to be able to get boat tickets there and avoid the queues, Jane was great about obtaining lobsters for us when we wanted them... More

Nestled back from the beach and in an elevated position all three rooms have a very nice sea view. Clean and tidy with freshly laundered linen and towels, each room is on suite with TV, Tea and Coffee facilities, this place is a domestic house but affords a separate entrance which prevents disturbance to the proprietors when one returns late,... Having just returned from our stay at the Kistvaen I felt I had to write this review. The Kistvaen B&B has got to be one of the best if not the best on St Mary's. We stayed in the Spring Room with excellent views over Porthcressa Beach. The view was fantastic. The room itself was so comfortable with everything you... More

Love this place, so friendly and welcoming. All the rooms have superb views of Porthcressa Beach and it is only a few minutes walk to the harbour. Breakfasts are great to cater for every taste. Been back time and time again and you will want to too!!

We have stayed at Kistvaen twice now, having the room with the double bed but which does not have the best views of the bay that the two twin rooms have. However, the side window does have a nice view if you look sideways a bit. If that sounds a bit negative, then that is the only downside of choosing... More

Lovely little B&B set back just enough from the main tourist areas, but within easy striking distance from all the amenities and attractions. The room was very clean, quiet, comfortable and well appointed, I especially like having the (quiet!) fridge to put things in. Richard and Jane are great hosts, very friendly but not intrusive at all. Breakfast menu was... More

My friend and I stayed five nights at Kistvaen in May 2013 and it was EXCELLENT. Jane is flexible about the time for Breakfast, which itself is scrumptious. The rooms are light and the views from the bedrooms are stunning. Comfy beds with quality sheets and pillow. I like the location as it's near everything in Hugh Town but away... More

Small personal B+B. All rooms have fantastic views, and are exceptionally clean, light and comfortable, with a good breakfast menu including fresh fish. We stayed here for 8 nights on our honeymoon and could not have made a better choice. Jane and Richard were both helpful and friendly, and my dairy and gluten free diet was accommodated without a blink... More

My wife and I spent three nights in this B&B. We were made most welcome by Jane and Richard and they were most helpful with their advice on getting around St Mary's and where best to dine. Our room was comfortable and had superb views. Continental breakfast was our choice and it was satisfying and wholesome, with a nice choice... More

The B&B of your dreams. Difficult to imagine a better position on St Mary’s: the building is close to the walls of the Garrison fortress and the rooms face on Porthcressa Bay and the Peninnis Peninsula. Rooms are bright, clean, comfortable and well provided; the owners, Jane and Richard, are very kind. You will not want to leave!
