To be fair it was actually a few years ago. This was a regrettable experience. A warning that the "doors are locked at midnight sharp no entry no exceptions" greeted us on arrival. This was not made clear on booking. I was horrified and felt like I'd been cheated. The place was dusty. The breakfast was fine. If you want... More

The room was nice and clean, it could so with a bit of updating and the full length mirror is behind the sofa which isn't the most convenient place but other than that a nice place to stay. Especially if you're bit driving as the station is 3 mins away with trains going to Exeter and Torquay and a boat... More

The staff were really friendly and helpful, and the house is very nice and comfortable. The double rooms are a bit too small for tall people. The strand is not very inviting. Breakfast was very good. If dinner is not available, THe Ship is a great restaurant nearby.

Service from staff good and friendly. Food good, breakfast a little old style (fried bread). Restaurant food good although paper napkins, not washable fabric seemed a little cheapskate, had to ask for correct spoons for desserts and sauce for main courses a little disappointing. Parking at this guest house is awkward, especially on a busy road. No guest garden, or... More

I must admit, when we arrived and got to our room I began to think that we had made a huge mistake. The view from our window into Chimney's backyard was like something out of Steptoe and Son with junk galore and an old double mattress plonked in the middle for the 5 yapping dogs to play on. It could... More

We are two seniors who stayed here for three nights in order to attend an event near by. Having booked on the internet we were well aware of the 'rules'.(ie no entry between ten and four, and back before midnight!) which are clearly stated if you bother to read the small print, and although we had a giggle about it,... We have just stayed here for two nights. My wife and i were given the family room. It was very clean, my wife always checks thoroughly. We only ate breakfast here, served at 8.30am each day, and it was very good. You do have to be out of your room by 10am each day, but having said that, we didn't... More

Upsettingly awful. Stayed here with my daughter as we were going to a concert nearby. However, this establishment ruined what should have been a great weekend. Awful owners, rude and were nasty to my daughter. When she couldn't hear what the owner said to her at breakfast she said 'pardon' and the lady said 'are you DEAF!' and guess what,... More

Me and my partner were out enjoying the air show and carnival of dawlish warren and as the airshow starts at 1pm, we thought we would enjoy... More
