It is rare to find a hotel in such a wonderful location, offer a 2 course weekday lunch at £11 - but to be able to do all this and turn out food at such high quality is very rare indeed. The hotel is located at Portwrinkle which is close to Downderry in South East Cornwall, definitely worth a visit.

As a family we have visited Whitsand Bay Hotel many times over the years and it always feels good to return. It is a family run hotel, with all the staff being very helpful and pleasant, plenty to do for families on site and near. Wifi is free, but mainly around the reception area, which was great for us because... More

This is a wonderful place to eat, and is in a beautiful part of Cornwall. It's well worth the effort of searching out the place and having a meal there. The hotel has a lovely feel to it, quintessentially English, very much like a gentleman's residence - high moulded ceilings, broad corridors, beautiful stained glass window on the stairs, panelled... Been here before and knew what to expect which is a traditional hotel in a great setting attached to a well presented golf course. We booked late and had an amazing 2 night bed and breakfast offer which also included a free (and decent) cream tea. Yes it was a small twin room on the top floor, but this was... More

We really loved this hotel. It is great for families (including for family functions), although most guest are senior citizens who come for the golf course. As a foreigner, I find it very English in many ways. The owning family are very helpful and really look after each guest. Yes, you will find any number of small deficiencies from creaky... More

Another pleasant visit for lunch with friends on 15th July. Very hot weather so glad to be inside in the large cool dining room. A lot of golfers around, but dining room was only half-full. Tried the mixed grill for the first time, and was well-beaten by the volume. Had to make up a doggy-bag for the steak and pork... More

We stayed for 2 nights (return visit!) and played golf too! Location is fantastic, views from the terrace amazing and don't come here if you are on a diet!! Wonderful place and had a meal for £11,00 for 2 courses plus tea and there was loads of it with a quick service. The place is immaculate and has wonderful views. Very relaxing. The place is faultless. Gardens are well looked after and you can sit out.

Just spend a few days using the hotel as a base for walking the South West Coast Path. Found a tremendous deal on the website. Hotel is old but that is part of the charm. Beautiful views across Whitsand Bay, huge Cornish breakfast, delicious cream tea, very dog friendly and staff very helpful with our transport problem!
