Another pleasant visit for lunch with friends on 15th July. Very hot weather so glad to be inside in the large cool dining room. A lot of golfers around, but dining room was only half-full. Tried the mixed grill for the first time, and was well-beaten by the volume. Had to make up a doggy-bag for the steak and pork... More

It's great to read that you enjoyed your recent lunch. We agree, our mixed grill is a substantial sized dish and ideal for meat lovers with a big appetitie. Thank you for your kind comments and feedback. We look forward to seeing you again. More

We stayed for 2 nights (return visit!) and played golf too! Location is fantastic, views from the terrace amazing and don't come here if you are on a diet!! Huge breakfast, delicious lunch and cream tea. . .but dinner was WOW! Such an enormous choice and all freshly cooked from local ingredients and all served with a smile! It is... More

Wonderful place and had a meal for £11,00 for 2 courses plus tea and there was loads of it with a quick service. The place is immaculate and has wonderful views. Very relaxing. The place is faultless. Gardens are well looked after and you can sit out.

Just spend a few days using the hotel as a base for walking the South West Coast Path. Found a tremendous deal on the website. Hotel is old but that is part of the charm. Beautiful views across Whitsand Bay, huge Cornish breakfast, delicious cream tea, very dog friendly and staff very helpful with our transport problem!

Hidden away on a windy lane the Whitsand Bay Hotel looks out over the huge bay which, in sunlight, is startlingly blue and even on a horrid, stormy day is magnificent to watch the angry sea. It is an old hotel, not fashionable and possibly not the warmest place but it is welcoming and the food is both good and... More

Thank you for sharing your experience. We agree that the views from the hotel and our coastal golf course are pretty spectacular in the summer sunshine or even on a stormy day. Our food has always been popular with guests and our regular locals - we are blessed with some of the very best Cornish and West County food suppliers... More

a small party of us visited this hotel for afternoon tea recently. Everyone had scones and jam and 2 people had the full cream tea. We were told there was no discount if the cream was not required. o.k. However the scones were obviously not fresh as they came to us completely cold, not what we expected. We did not... More

Popped in for a coffee prior to golf on a wet & rather cold Saturday in May & received a very warm welcome from John & the crew. This hotel is so quaint and full of character. It is not soul-less & modernised to the hilt - that would spoil it. The 18 hole golf course is superb & challenging... More

I clicked on this site to get the hotel's phone number, as we frequently visit for lunch or evening meals. I was shocked to see the recent negative feedback. What this hotel is NOT is modern pristine magnolia box. It is however a quirky character establishment in THE most stunning location. I enjoyed a perfect birthday celebration some months ago... More

We have visited this hotel; twice over the last couple of months and whilst we have enjoyed the food, we have been alarmed at being told that the bill is more than we were quoted, when booking. the first time we went as a family, we phoned up and booked a Sunday Roast for 5 people and were given a... It is very sad for us to read your comments, as you all enjoyed your food and we also enjoyed and appreciated a 2nd visit from you. We feel it’s fair to add some balance to a few of your points: the bar bill of £150 included 3 x bottles of champagne at just under £40 per bottle (£120) plus... More

We just returned from a 3 night stay as part of a bigger trip with friends for a wedding at the nearby Polhawn Fort. The location is fantastic, with lovely views out towards the sea.
