After visiting here several times in the past 2 years. I recently returned to sample the once mouth watering menu. I was shocked and disappointed to discover that the menu didn't have all that much to offer and the quality of food was dire. I had the salmon while others I dinned with had the roast duck. When our meals... More

First visited in June and couldn't wait to go again, so met with some of the family for lunch and we all thought it was first class, with their home baked gluten free bread and rolls and a special g/f chocolate cake for dessert us coeliac diners can eat without exclusion …. now that's a novelty in most restaurants. We'll... More

A generally awful experience; 1. The hotel claims to be dog friendly; it is not. Like so many hotels, dog owners are forced to stay in designated rooms outside the main hotel. The dog is not allowed in the hotel at all, which means spending time either by himself in the car or else locked in the room. Nothing friendly... More

We stayed in the Staple Oak suite in August of this year. The receptionist was friendly and we had a warm welcome. The room was fantastic (but I would expect it to be for the price!). Split level with it's own private garden. Huge sofas, a wood burning stove, Jacuzzi bath, huge TV, a dining table, big bed and lots... More

I remember when you could look out of the bathroom window in room one and could talk to the sheep in the paddock, drinking wine and having a jacuzzi - all at the same time. When The merecat people looked out of the velor windows right after they arrived in the room. Things are different in many ways now. But... More

Apparently this is one of the best hotels in the region! After a 3-hr drive we arrived at a picturesque location with expectations high. The hotel had a dated-feel to it. Receptionist/owner was not friendly on arrival. The room was dated and furnished out of the 80's. There was a musty smell throughout the hotel and rooms. Ironically there are... More

Arrived in the evening after a long drive (200+ miles) and was asked if I would be dining - "yes". Was then asked by the receptionist if I could be in the restaurant by 7:45pm to order (it was 7:35pm at this point) as the kitchen is closing! I quickly deposited my bags and headed to the bar and restaurant.... More

Quiet location overlooking a stunning garden. The room was fashioned with a good bed and there were homemade cookies for my afternoon tea. Loved it! Friendly staff. I can higly recommend you for a great "get a way" place

When we are in the area we always try to stay at the Inn at Whitewell but this time we had to find another hotel as it was fully booked. The Gibbon Bridge looked nice and had good reviews so we gave it a try. We booked for two nights. We were booked in by a friendly female receptionist &... More
