Lovely large room, good view, balcony and excellent breakfast. This B&B would have got 5 stars if the bed had been upgraded. It is too small for 2 people, old and lumpy. Bathroom is a bit old but adequate. Very helpful staff and a wonderful village to explore. Loved the region. It was a hassle to have to send a... More

The village is perfect with a selection of bars and restaurants, so no need to drive in the evening. The region is amongst one of the most beautiful I have seen. The casa is a historic building with lots of atmosphere and the welcome is enchanting. If I were being "picky" I would like to see the bathrooms updated. But... More

This is a 2/3 rating really and is a difficult Casa to rate. The rooms are basic and are in need of some attention, particularly the bathrooms, which are dated. The rooms are spotlessly clean and are a variety of sizes, some with large bathrooms, some with showers, some with a balcony, all with wonderful views of the mountains. The house... More

The room and bathroom are rather old, and very basic but the people are very friendly. Breakfast was good with multicereal bread and homemade honey and jam. The lady also gave us walking tips and directions. Parking space available for guests. Overall good experience.

Casa do Adro serves as a natural base for anyone planning on a hiking trip in this part of Portugal. I used a hired car to get from Porto to Soajo. This gave me a greater selection of daily hikes to choose from. (I recommend an off-airport hire car company to get the best rate. I used Sixt). A one-way... More

Where better to be centred for walking in the national park than this delightful village and lovely house. I feel guilty awarding only three out of five to Casa do Adro because of how special both the place and Señora Enes are. In reality the deficiencies are the bed (very hard and narrow - as small a double as you... More

Back here for our 4th visit in 4 years!! We just love it here. It's really very special (see comments from other trip advisor members, plus our own). Joaquina and her lovely home at Casa do Adro seem to attract such nice, companionable people, from all over the world. Every year that we've visited we've enjoyed the company of fellow... More

Casa do Adro is a large, old, traditional Portuguese house, non-pretentious, simple and delightful. Señora Enes, whose family has owned this house for generations, could not do enough for us, our room was comfortable and you could have had a ball in the bathroom. The place oozes serenity. Soajo itself is largely an agricultural working community, tightly packed around church... More

We have just returned from our 3rd successive stay at Casa do Adro, each time for a week or more. Joaquina is a wonderful warm, welcoming and generous hostess (she also speaks English). Fresh bread from the next door bakery each day! The rooms are a little old-fashioned, but they suit the house. The house is 300 years old and... More
