I struggle to think there is a better way to start a holiday than this. We took the early morning ferry from Portsmouth and it's a short hop from Normandy coast to La Louviere. The property is beautiful, rooms wonderfully designed and deeply comfortable. Gardens are delightful, and swimming pool and little lake with rowing boat take care of children... More

Impeccably elegant rooms - we had the family suite for two nights, superb surroundings including a really well heated and beautiful swimming pool and delicious meals. Although the weather was bad, it didn't matter as we were in a comfortable and beautiful house. Would have stayed longer. Alain and Isabelle are wonderful hosts. Look forward to our next visit.

Alain and Isabelle really make you feel so welcomed in their stunning home. Lovely rooms and stunning gardens with lake and swimming pool. Alain couldn't have been more helpful with local knowledge and booking restaurants. Would recommend this place in a heart and would stay again if in Normandy again.

We stayed at the lovely home of Alain and Isabelle last August on our way home to the U.K. Stand out features are the Beautiful gardens with a superb Pool and Tennis court. My girls loved the space and we loved the tranquility and security of the gated grounds. The House is simply gorgeous and the rooms extremely comfortable. Both... More

I just spent four wonderful days with my family at this incredible Maison d'Hôtes. The owners Alain and Isabelle are the perfect hosts and did everything in their power to make us feel at home. We stayed for 4 nights and wished we had time to stay so much longer. Both the hospitality and facilities were of the highest standards. The gardens were impeccable and the environment of La Louviere was incredibly relaxing. We had the opportunity to explore nearby towns and local attractions and it made for a wonderful holiday. We highly recommend La... More

Like many other reviewers we spent one night here on our return journey from a holiday in Poitou-Charentes—and like them we all wish we could have stayed much longer! The house and grounds are absolutely gorgeous and the two interconnecting rooms we shared with our two children were perfect. The girls loved exploring the gardens and the small wood, and... More

We stayed two nights here as a stopover, to and from, a trip to family in Vendee and loved it. The whole property is stunning - lovely old manoir beautifully restored, surrounded by a large park which included a small wood. The outdoor pool was deliciously refreshing after a long hot drive. Breakfast was the usual french fare but dinner... More
