Our visit dates back from october 2008. A short stay. But one to remember. This amazing country house greets you. Silently, as you will discover, in all of her charm and splendor. But always with respect to whom comes to visit. Overlooking her garden as a 'Grande Dame', she gracefully hides her secrets. Unless you enter, revealing her beauty, hidden... More

We stayed two nights in a lovely room. The whole house is beautifully decorated and you feel very much at home. Alan recommended a different restaurant each night both of which were good. We took tea in the garden 'hut' that overlooks the small lake, the gardens are also kept wonderfully. The 'Financier' cakes for breakfast were delicious as was... More

We stayed here for a night en-route from Calais to Brittany and the only wish we have is that we could have stayed longer. The house and grounds are absolutely amazing, and the dinner Isabelle cooked for us was very high quality. If we are ever looking to stay in the area again we would definitely return.

I´ve spend about 6 years every summer at La Louviere. And i love the house, the big pool, the small lake where you can go fishing or ride a boat, walk around the forest, play tabletennis or tennis on the tennis cort, or just relax in the garden. The Groult´s are a great family and very nice. Also speaking a... More

Driving up country from Dinan to Eteret we googled local accomodation and La Loviere came highly recomended on TA. What a sublime place to stop and break up what was a very long journey to the South of France. We were looked after so well and my 85 year old Mother -in-law felt very at home. Isabelle and Alain have created a wonderful atmosphere in the house and outside in the grounds. We will definately be back !! x

Late september, 2008, the gates of La louviére closed the world behind us. An invitation to spend a marvelous journey at the mansion. More a home, under the household of a Parisian lady, who perfectly understand the art of entertaining guests. You feel so welcome, the first minute you enter the house and the rest of the time you spend... More

We booked La Louviere through i-escape wanting somewhere to break our journey between Ile de Re and the Eurotunnel on what turned out to be an excellent deal as a breakfast, 2 dinners and a brunch were included. The food served by the owners was magnificent - very French and much more than home cooking - a real joy. We... More

A big, beautiful house, set in vast grounds in the country - what could be better? A home, rather than a hotel, but amazingly comfy. The lady of the house was very friendly and helpful, with French aplomb. There were tennis courts, swimming pool, grounds to walk and a summer house to sit in and enjoy a cup (or glass!)... More

La Louviere is excellent place. Impressive territory: forest, garden, pond, warmed swimming pool. Superior interiors. Hosts Allen and Isabelle give very warm welcome. They speak French, English and German. Isabelle cooks amazing, don't miss local dinners. Breakfasts are also very pleasant. Children have separate dinner (with simple food almost any child like) a hour before main dinner. La Louviere has... More
