Stayed here as a party of 4 in may. Ok this is not a international 5 star hotel and you may not get any hot water from the shower. But the bungalows are excellent really comfortable night sleep in beautiful surroundings, restaurant is ok food is decent and staff really helpful. Will stay here again in the future if I... More

We stopped in Woldia on our way north from Lalibela. While stopping just there is a reasonable choice, logistically speaking, the town and the hotel lack any particular merit (apart from being the birthplace of the milliardaire Zaki ElAmoudi, but it doesn't show). The hotel is looming, oversize, and shabbily kempt. The food (dinner, breakfast) tolerable. The room was not... More

Fortunately we were given tukul number 1 in the grounds of this large, rather shabby-looking hotel. The accommodation in the tukul was very good - 2 large beds, satellite TV, 2 easy chairs and a large bathroom with a good, hot shower. It is at the back of the garden where they grow lots of vegetables. We found the staff very... More

They have also bungalows or "villas" behind the main building and this have much better quality then usual hotel rooms. Nothing special but room and bathroom were clean and you have private water boiler at every bungalow so you don't have to worry about hot water. The place could be very noisy due to location at narrow valley. All the... More

The best hotel on Weldiya. Cockroach and Mpsquito infested. Noisy, squallid, decrepit. Unfriendly receptionist. Over priced. Avoid staying over in Weldiya, if you must, this hell hole is the less worst.

We stopped in Woldia after a bus from Mekele which terminated there, on our way to Lalibela. Probably should have taken up the offer of one of the guys who were offering lifts, but we thought it was too late. Got a room in the Lal hotel because others were full. Got an indifferent twin room which hasn't been maintained... More
