We have been in Stampriet for one night and had a very good experience. The hostess was very cordial and relevant. The meal was delicious and care as if you were at home. On our way from Windhoek to Mata Mata we spent the night at the Historical Guesthouse. The lovingly and very tasteful decorated rooms and house add to the friendly and welcoming atmosphere. We immediately felt comfortable. The staff was very friendly and we had a good breakfast and tasty diner. All in all a very good stopover on the way... More

Our hosts Kobus and his wife demonstrated to us the typical Namibian hospitality. They were never too busy to chat, assist and serve. The food was traditional home-style cooking and delicious, the bar well stocked (beer; wine & spirits) and the kids could order their favorite milkshakes! The rooms are spacious, many equipped with the basics such as tea &... More

Luckily our first stop was the Stampriet Historical Guest House across the road where we had a warm welcome from Kobus and, when we saw the restaurant and wooden deck overlooking the surrounding farms and village, a menu to suit a... brilliant food, a individual guided tour through the house and it´s picturesque collection of old furniture, radios, tools and even 1920s original medicine... couldn´t be any better, even the rooms are in style. Some with more and some with less decoration, but all roomy and comfortable.
