Somewhere in the Kalahari is a very nice and green oase; this historical guesthouse. An old milk car and other historical things show you how people in the old days used to live. The swimming pool area is very relaxing and after a nice game of billiard, in the beautiful lapa, you can enjoy a good dinner in the dining... More

It was a big pleasure to see such an amazing green surrounding after a two week Desert trip. The room was spacious and well equiped; the food (Lunch, Diner and breakfast) was also very good. Staff was very friendly

After a long ride from Windhoek we arrived at this peaceful stylish place and showed to an old fashioned but modern room. After a quick dip in the pool we had the best meal we have had in Namibia. Nothing flashy, but simply a home-cooked dinner that tasted delicious. We really loved this place and it's atmosphere!

We have been in Stampriet for one night and had a very good experience. The hostess was very cordial and relevant. The meal was delicious and care as if you were at home. The hostess told us about the history of the property and her enthousiasme about the value of the history of Namibia. Her grandfather had written many books,... More

On our way from Windhoek to Mata Mata we spent the night at the Historical Guesthouse. The lovingly and very tasteful decorated rooms and house add to the friendly and welcoming atmosphere. We immediately felt comfortable. The staff was very friendly and we had a good breakfast and tasty diner. All in all a very good stopover on the way... More

Our hosts Kobus and his wife demonstrated to us the typical Namibian hospitality. They were never too busy to chat, assist and serve. The food was traditional home-style cooking and delicious, the bar well stocked (beer; wine & spirits) and the kids could order their favorite milkshakes! The rooms are spacious, many equipped with the basics such as tea &... More

Did not like the dinner offered at Kalahari Farmhouse so decided to check out the village for other options. Luckily our first stop was the Stampriet Historical Guest House across the road where we had a warm welcome from Kobus and, when we saw the restaurant and wooden deck overlooking the surrounding farms and village, a menu to suit a...
