We stayed one night at this beautiful old inn. It was the perfect forced relaxation stop. Our room was clean, comfortable and spacious with a double bed (a bit small when you're used to a king but ok) and a single in the corner. It would be nice in winter to have the open fire burning. The restaurant served lovely... More

We stayed at the Houw Hoek in for oyr 3rd time. This place has unequalled beauty. Inbetween the mountains and their lush gardens, you feel perfectly at home. The rooms are to die for, with comfortable beds and a cosy fireplace. We enjoyed a glass of wine on our verandah before supper. The menu is very limited and I feel... More

My wife and I spent two most enjoyable nights at the Houw Hoek Inn - the first being New Year's eve. The value for the dinner dance that evening was outstanding, particularly when compared to what some Cape Town restaurants are charging. Clearly, a great deal of time and effort is put in by the management and staff to ensure... More

We booked the Saturday dinner, dance bed and breakfast. We were 3 couples and they had given us rooms next to one another. They even put wood in the fire place so we could just light the fire. Hotel is old but very well maintained. Everything was good value. Rooms were clean and lots of space. Staff friendly. Great time... More

Spent two nights whilst on a cycling holiday. Very clean and comfortable with lots of olde world touches. Staff friendly and polite even if barren couldn't cope too speedily with the Saturday night rush! Breakfast and dinner served on a carvery basis but covered all our needs with a wide and varied choice which suited our needs but which may... More

On our way to Hermanus, we decided to stop at Houw Hoek Inn for a bite to eat. Having eaten there before, we expected the food to be up to scratch. My husband and I ordered the crumbed chicken burgers and our children had the kiddies burgers and chips. When the food arrived I was shocked that they would even... More

An easily accessible place between Cape Town & Hermanus so we were able to meet up with our friends and share a winter weekend break at this historic hotel. Lovely grounds, warm fires and plentiful food, attended by friendly and helpful staff made for a pleasant stay. The Saturday evening dinner dance was a treat but showed up our 'age'... More

My husband and I visited the Houw Hoek Inn on Saturday as we were guests at a wedding. Although I know of the hotel, I didn't expect much as its reputation is built on handling crowds for weddings and conferences, albeit in a beautiful natural setting. Previous experience taught me that often management aren't too concerned about service and facilities... More

We recently spent a Sunday night at the Houw Hoek Inn. The hospitality is superb. With so many rooms you would never expect to get the personalised service that we got from the staff. They made our stay very special. The food is divine and the scones for afternoon tea are just out of this world! It was the perfect... More
