The cheapest campsite around and well organised. We took a tent ground site. You are next from a really nice river great to swim. There's animal all over the farm: Cow , alpaca chicken and other.Shower are free and have a lot of space. Both kitchen were clean and had a 4-6 cookers. Really like the place and you sleep with the sound of... More

We've been travelling to Old Macs now for our annual family and friends Xmas holiday and have always enjoyed the friendly relaxed and old fashioned feel of this camp ground, kids bike, swim in the river, visit the animals and generally just enjoy being kids! The sites are huge well set out, facilities are good and provide you with all... More

Right on the edge of Abel Tasman national park this is a very good option to stay. Slightly overpriced for rather basic facilities however. Showers are hot and free, camping places spacious and free to choose and on the board of a river. Kitchen well equipped.

We stayed here on the recommendation of the information centre (iSite) in Motueka. We wanted to be close to walks and away from the maddening crowds (although in mid-December the upper end of the South Island was like a ghost town). As we were touring, we only stayed one night. We had a fully self contained camper van and the... More

Stayed here in December for two nights with a camper van on a powered site because of our visit too Abel Tasman national park. It is a bit overpriced in my opinion. The holiday park is middle in the bush with a beautiful creek and near the entrance off the national park. Facilities are OK and clean but way too... More

My girlfriend and I recently stayed at Old Macdonals Farm for 3 nights camping. Upon arrival we were greeted by a friendly man at reception who checked us in and offered us plenty of places to camp at the farm. We chose to walk 400m to the camp site that he recommended. In a way we were grateful as he... More

Visited for a couple of nights in a camper van to enjoy the Abel Tasman. Lovely spot but really run down and a bit dirty- saw a sign in the drive way advertising it as up for sale and it shows. Everything needs a coat of paint, neither washing machine working properly, one of toilets has no door on it... More

Wow what an amazing place to stay. These cabins were warm and well equipped. The one thing I was massively surprised about is how good the showers were. Each bed comes with a fluffy blanket which I wanted to to take home with me. The location is awesome as you are 5 minutes from the amazing beaches in the area. I... More

I stayed at this campsite for 1 night with my husband in March on a powered site. We were able to choose our own pitch (there was lots of choice) and they were near a river with beautiful scenery all around. The facilities are basic and older than other sites we stayed at but the showers were free and hot... More
