I can't say enough about this wonderful place. So close to everything at Marahau but so quiet & peaceful. I had originally wanted a fully self contained room but none were available. In hindsight it didn't matter as the room still had enough of everything to prepare breakfast & pack a lunch. The lovely guest kitchen was right next door... More

Hi Brooks10, Thank you so much for your lovely review of the Lodge. We really appreciate that you took the time. We find lots of our guests are taking advantage of the kitchen as a nice change from eating out. The definite bonus of Marahau is that we also has the advantage of some really decent cafes / restaurants as... More

Jocelyn and Scott were terrific hosts of this special lodging located in an idyllic part of the world and they seem to really care about their guests and are taking their responsibility as new hosts very seriously. Our triple suite (king plus single) was recently updated, with fresh linens, comfortable beds and a modern large bathroom and we were very... More

Thanks foodandtravelisfun for your lovely review. Our different styles of rooms have different facilities, but as you say our guest kitchen is pretty well equipped for preparing breakfast, lunch and dinner. Again, we really appreciate your kind words and thanks for taking the rime to review us. Jocelyn & Scott More

We only stayed here the one night as a family of 4 in a 2 bed chalet. It cost $280 during peak season and is most likely quite pricey. However, the experience and cost were validated and accompanied by the friendly and welcoming hosts of the property who during their busy and peak season allowed us to arrive a little... More

Thanks HappyDays. We really appreciated the kind words about the Lodge, cleaners, us and of course the stunning Abel Tasman region. Peak season is of course the time when prices are highest, but we are really pleased you see the value everyone here attempts to offer makes it worthwhile. Thanks again and we hope to see you back. Kind regards... More

This was our second stay at the Marahau. We stayed here 2 years ago, and this time planned our entire months holiday in New Zealand around the availability of 4 nights at the Marahau lodge. Given the superb access to the Abel Tasman park right on the doorstep, the great eateries, Park Cafe, Fat Tui And Hooked restaurant, this place... More

The lodge is located just a short walk/drive from town and is close to several restaurants. The owners were great and helped us organize the water taxi for our hike in advance (they even reserved the tickets for us). While lovely, I thought this place was a bit overpriced for what you get, and everything seemed to be extra -... More

Thanks Rachel for your feedback. I'm sorry you felt we were expensive. Since owning the Lodge (Sep 2014) we have refurbished most of our chalets (8 out of 13 and built 2 new ones). The remaining chalets will be done in our winter this year (June). In that time we haven't increased our prices (and the previous owners hadn't done... More

My room was spacious and clean, as was also the bathroom, and the bed was very comfortable. The furnishings were just a little on the “spartan” side (a basic table and just two plastic chairs!) - but you also get a deck with an outdoor table and a couple more chairs. There's no air-conditioning (but there is a fan) and... More

Thanks Gat for your great feedback. All of our chalets have soft chairs in them now or a couch. I think you must have been in our new chalets and we were waiting for the chairs to arrive. Our apologies that you didn't have one for your visit (the chalet is only just a month old). We have a large... More

Fabulous location close to kayaks, water taxis and restaurants-all within walking distance. Scott and Joce are great hosts and extremely accommodating. We had a 1 bedroom chalet with a small kitchen and living area, everything we needed and super clean. Highly recommended.

Such a great place to stay.....peaceful, convenient base and super clean. Joce and Scott were great hosts - really welcoming and helpful with their recommendations. We had a lovely studio chalet with use of cooking and laundry facilities if required. Internet access was NZ$5 for 24 hours which actually was pretty reasonable. Breakfast was N$15 per person but was way... More

Lovely, knowledgable hosts.who deliver breakfast to your room and provide yummy packed lunches. They even loaned us a couple of boxes of high quality, age appropriate toys and games for our two daughters. A real pleasure in a perfect location. Stay there :-)

We have stayed here before because we love Marahau as a base to explore the National Park. We were lucky enough to stay in an almost brand new chalet that has just been completed. It suited us really well with an interconnecting door between a studio and a one bedroom unit - ideal for us travelling with family from overseas.... More
