Fantastic location and great accommodation. We stayed for 4 days and loved every minute of it. The owners are very welcoming and so helpful from the minute you arrive - finding out what you enjoy & giving plenty of suggestions for getting the most out of the area for the time you are there; and happy to book everything for... This motel is situated close to the entrance to the Abel Tasman National Park and so is an excellent base for all the park activities . We were in a studio room which was very clean and comfortable. There are no cooking facilities in the room but there is a very well equipped communal kitchen close by. As in all... More

Thanks for the positive review. Unfortunately we had just had our first rain in many months so we did have sandfly's around the National Park. Hope you enjoyed the rest of your holiday Regards Robyn & Don More

Very pleased with Marahau Lodge for the one night we had there. Marahau is well situated for access to the Abel Tasman track and water taxis. Don is very helpful and gave some great advice. Well equipped, quiet, clean, tastefully decorated units.

This is one of the few and good lodge I came across during my 2 weeks of travelling the top of the South Island. Marahau lodge appears to quite new and up-to-date with its rooms. the location is ok, 10 mins from the centre (Marahau is a very small place). my only caution about Marahau (not the hotel itself): there... You go to Marahau because you want to walk the trails in Abel Tasman park - anything from a 4 day tramp to a quick ride in a water taxi to be dropped off at Bark Bay, perhaps, followed by a walk back the 12km to Anchorage where the water taxi collects you. It is all beautiful walking with a... More

Marahau lodge was simple but lovely accomodation at its best. Perfect location so close to the park, spotlessly clean rooms with everything you needed to cook for yourselves. Great recommendations for what to do and where to eat - fat tui and hooked were both excellent. The one night we cooked in we were given green beans from the garden... More

Really nice lodges right at the entrance of the Abel Tasman national park. Walking distance to the park, beach and several cafes and restaurants. The owner were always available and very helpful. Very clean rooms and communal kitchen. Rooms are basic but have everything you need, even a TV. Will be going back there.

Very nice location for access to the South end of Abel Tasman Park. The grounds are spacious and well kept. Our room was pretty much standard motel but clean and comfortable. Our room was as quiet as our neighbors which worked out for us. There is a small kitchenette in the room but there is a much larger communal kitchen... More

Beginning with a warm welcome from Don, our arrival "at the top of the south" couldn't have been nicer. They even stock ice for us Americans (seems we're the only nationality that loves ice) and condiments in the communal kitchen. We had a lovely view from our patio of a horse-farm complete with geese and a donkey, with mountains behind... More

Ive traveled New Zealand and stayed in a range of places, this was the most expensive by far and not worth the price. While other reviewers raved about the hospitality, my family and I found the host curt and quite in-hospitable. The rooms were nothing more then motel rooms with cheap finishes. The walls are thin and the view to... More

Interesting review from guests who arrived at 9.30am (without warning - checkin time being 2pm as advised to her ) insisting on access to their chalet immediately as the reviewer had a internet conf.call in 5mins. Fortunately we could accommodate them immediately . Yes a back bedroom faces the carpark but the remainder of the chalet - bedroom, lounge area &... More
