I only stayed here a night, but would have loved to be here longer! Beautiful location, cool outdoor/indoor kitchen, comfortable rooms, and wonderful hammock nook! Very relaxing atmosphere, and everything has a very open air feel! Felt like I was on a tropical island somewhere ( I did visit in summer)! Didn't have an issue with the staff, they treated... More

We were a big group walking the Abel Tasman, 22 of us. We walk a Great Walk every Easter. I'd visited the Barn some years previously and had been impressed by the facilities and ranges of accommodation. This Easter we were walking the track top to bottom but travelled via the Barn to drop off some gear that we would... More

I visited here with Stray and really loved the place. The rooms were so warm and the bed was so comfortable. Even though you had to pay for wifi, it was fast and reliable. The location was wonderful, I recommend going kayaking to see Abel Tasman at its best.

We stayed in a small cabin, which has a queen sized bed, heater, towels and toiletries, plus a hanger and maybe a chair. It's simple but sufficient and priced reasonably. There are good facilities at the camp site, including a range of showers, cooking and cleaning area, movies and TV room etc. Importantly, it's a few hundred meters walk to... More

Rooms are very basic and private rooms aren't that much better than dorms so it is not worth paying extra. New shower block is good. Kitchen is kept clean due to cameras keeping eyes on guests. Staff are quite rude/rough unfortunately and i didn't feel comfortable staying here. Doubt Id stay here again despite the good location. Was happy to... More

The cabin we slept in were really cosy. The view and sunrise were beautiful. It's pretty cold to walk to the toilets during the evening/night in the winter but that's something you have to take into account when sleeping in the cabin. Bathrooms were clean and kitchen a little small but well equipped. Perfect location just couple of minutes walk... More

I've never had a problem with staff before but the staff here was so absolutely terrible that I felt very uncomfortable and unsafe at this hostel. I heard a noise in the middle of the night and got freaked out knowing they had keys to my room. Rude like you wouldn't believe, condescending like all get out, and treated us... More

Since accommodation options are limited in Marahau I would likely recommend staying here, although my stay here was only average. There are both outdoor and indoor kitchen facilities, the washroom facilities are clean and well maintained, as are the bedroom facilities. The dorm rooms are warm, while the private rooms are luxurious, however some have heating issues (only a concern... More

I stayed here a while ago now and at the time I promised not to write my complaint on here. However I recently looked at reviews and saw other people saying the same. I think people need to learn what they are doing wrong in order to improve things. Firstly this is a beautiful spot! The park is amazing and... More

We wanted to go to the Abel Tasman but weren't sure where to camp. This was a random stop to check on availability but turned out to be a great find. The sites were very open but there were very few campers. All of the facilities were well maintained and they were working on new cabins. It was very convenient... More
